IT's been a long long wait to get my car in. July 31st the dyno cratered and then I went out of town. Well at noon today I finally get to go in. I'm nervous as hell too...hope it all holds togther and my running issue presents itself with a huge f'n white flag and say's "here I am"

I'll post some updates later, vid's to.

Are you getting the car tuned or just making some pulls to see what it does ?

David,

Dave did a mail order tune for his car.

Just curious because he mentioned the car having running issues, and those type things should usually be corrected before going to the dyno.

It's getting a tune.

The running issue is small. After I installed the MP FMIC it likes to backfire when it get's warm, lets say a 20 minute drive. It will stall/sputter and backfire like a cannon. Usually starts 2nd or 3rd try after that.

when it cold she starts flawlessly, jumps right to 800/900 rpm and stays, vacume is holding at 15 in/hg.

I'm hoping the tune will remedy the backfiring. I guess it could be pulling the timing a bit when it gets hot...I have two fans, one in front of the IC and one behind. It doesn't seem to heat up.

Dave sent me a 3 position tune...not sure of the specs, seems to like #3 whatever that may be.

Tune 3 is 15% additional fuel. Looks like you are severely lean for some reason. Are you sure you are getting proper fuel pressure?

well the good news is she pulled 280hp while running like a heap of crap. the bad news is it had to come home via tow truck. It died out while we were talking about what might be wrong. After we started it again it makes a terrible sound..not sure if it the SC or a hung up idler...it got worse every time we started the car.

I pulled code 14 there..ignition profile pickup circut failure ???? bad crank or cam sensor/dis/ecc where should I start....after I find out what the hell that sound was.

Hope you didn't hurt a bearing. Dyno'ing a car when its running "like crap" is never a good idea.

Sounds like the same noise mine was making when the rod bearings finally gave out. I thought it was a idler wheel. I took off the belts, they spun freely and so did the blower. Like Dave said hope you arent going to be rebuilding the bottom end. I went through that whole thing this spring.

Kinda glad here...would you believe the awful sound was just the lower IC tube blown off!!! I guess during the dyno run it must have popped. That lower Passesenger side is a pain to get on all the way.

So I guess a SC turning even at idle piped though a MPIC will sound like a megaphone.

So now how do I fix my CODE 14????? DIS?
