I got my 1991 SC about a week and a half ago for $900 its air condition was broken i fixed that simple by a new fan motor, A small oil leak, A new battery the one that was in there was for the Non-Supercharged T-bird all of which have been fixed. The one major flaw on this car is the paint is very faded out.Which brings me to one of my questions What is the easiest way to take a car down to primer outside of sanding? :(

Also a couple questions
What are common problems with Super coupes?
What is the best road to take in terms of Mods?

headgaskets are the biggest problems. Do not overdrive your blower untill you open up the exhaust. And no more than 5% if you have a stock intercooler. These are often the biggest and first mistakes. They are really cheap for the hp gain but will surely blow your headgaskets a hell of a lot sooner if you dont upgrade the exhaust.

I just picked up a black 91 also with the bad clear coat. Best way is to wet sand it. I think last time I did it I started with 150 and then 400 and ended with 600. Once you get all the clear coat off you can respray clear or repaint with black base and clear or use the all in one paint. Stripers will remove everything down to the metal.
If you can do the prep work youself, {all clear coat gone down to black only}you can check with a local body shop and see what they want to just spray it for you if you mask off all the trim and windows. A paint job these days is very expensive. Good luck
