Disconnecting ebrake cable from caliper

Hey all,

I can't for the life of me get the e-brake cables off of the rear calipers. Where do these things detach from?

It should just be a end on the cable that fits into a U shaped channel with a spring keeping tension on the whole thing.

Those things suck to work on. You should be able to use a decent screw driver or a needle nose vise-grip to get it out of the channel.. It might help if you can clean that area up a little. Getting the cable back on is much harder.

You know how your bicycle handle bar cables hook up? The brake caliper is based on the same concept. A lead plug on the tip of the cable fits into a slot and the plug then seats in a cup. Push, or pull with needle nose pliers, the plug out of the cup, and then slide the cable out through the slot.

The cable assembly then slides back out of the clamp you show in the picture. That clamp might need a bit of oil as it looks rusty.
