View Full Version : New Thunderbirds?????
Just wondering what happened to the new Thunderbird. It has been stripped of the sleek, smooth and rounded body style which the 89-95 SCs have that we have all fallen in love with, and been replaced with a modernized retro-looking body. We dont want that, we want a modernized SVT Thunderbird SC!!

I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion .....however I like the new birds, maybe not as much as my 95 SC but they are definitely not ugly. You can make them look very nice and they can be hooked up with an Eaton M90. Have a look

That's a Ford concept car, maybe will see them built like that a few years down the road. Ford will do special versions of the car in the future as the initial interest and sales start to drop off, it's all about marketing guys.

As I understand it, Ford will be building the T-bird SC in 2004.

They're supposed to be using a version of the 400-hp supercharged 4.2L V8 in the Jag S-Type R. It should be making at least 350hp. For 2003, they got Variable Valve Timing, raising horsepower to 280.

If they do make the SC version in 2004 do you think they will stick with the same body style? I think this 2002 style looks alright, but I think it needs to get a bit wider... Thats just what I think...
Wider is better.
I think something should also be done to the rear end, i do not like it at all.

The way I hear it, YES, it will be in this body.

Personally, the only thing I like in that picture is the wheels.

I like the new bird. Wait until you see one in person, it may change your mind.
