could i get a little help. I'm trying to put a trans cooler on the bird. I'm going to mount it out front of the radiator. I've been looking on summit and different coolers have different fittings. Some have AN fittings, and some have NPT fittings. And from what i've heard, my trans tubes have flare fittings.

I know NPT is national pipe thread,
what does AN mean and why is it used (also what does the negative sign infront of the number mean)?? I'm betting I can get adapters for all the different types but, any ideas where I can get them??? hardware store???

Summit has P/N BCI-72001 which says "1/4 in. MP x 5/16 in. inverted flare transmission cooler fitting" what the hell does that mean??? whats MP???

what i was thinking actually was maybe if i used AN fittings i could use some of those braided hose things, like they have for water cooling. that would save all the trouble of bending tubes and such.

I'm thinking of getting a 18 - 20,000 GVW cooler. Is this good, enough??
What are you guys using???
I'm trying to get a setup with solid tubing, no rubber connections.

thanks
jim
