S/C vacuum/boost
HI guys, its been a while since I have been here, but I have installed the S/C on my sandbuggy. I am haveing a bit of troubles getting it started, and after a WOT decel, but thats in my ECU, I can work thru that. My qyestion is, even with the TB closed, I should be seeing full vacuum right? I have a HKS style bypass valve that is hooked to plenum port. My engine always dies after when I rev it up. Am I mising something drastic here?
One thought I had was that the charger is trying to suck in 90ci per rev, and my motor only pulls in 74ci per rev, so could I be starving my engine of air? It idles at 900-1000 smotthly. And with a 1.25 overdriven charger, I get a noload 5 psi. But I have some heavy head mods and good exhuast.
My set up is this:-------60mm Mustang TB with a thumbscrew idle bypass------short runner to charger------out charger to IC-------out IC to plenum. My BPV is just before the plnum plumbing back into the pipe between the charger and TB.
I am running 5* initial timeing wth close to 25 total, with no vacuum advance.
The engine is 22RE with Turbo injecotrs rated at 29lb/hr
I tried disconneting the vacuum port to the BPV, the one time it ran, it still showed vacuum, and the other time (after some tuning) it just died, and would not restart till I plugged it back in.
Anythoghts out there in S/C land?
Nathan
