spark plug torque

Given there is no room for a torque wrench, how does one accurately achieve the recommended torque? Is there a rule of thumb on distance traveled (i.e., 1/2 turn) after seating?

From extensive review of previous posts, appears recommend torque is approximately 10 ft-lbs.

So, take a 10-lb weight into the driveway with you. Lift it, gauge effort, then twist the wrench about the same amount. (For 12" ratchets only. For 9", use a 12.5-lb weight.) :p:p:p

I usually give them about 1/2 a grunt.

LOL! :)

Just get them tight enough so you know they are seated well and snug, but not so tight that you strip the aluminum threads in the head or crack the plug's ceramic insulator.
