I have a small issue here and I am looking for alternatives. I need an alternative to the Snow Go Juice. I have gone to their web site, checked out getting it direct, but I'll be damned if I am going to pay $51.00 for shipping $25 worth of product! And according to their dealership lists, there does not appear to be a shop that isn't at least a 2 or 3 hours drive from me that even knew what I was talking about.
So. What are some of the alternatives? I know there are lots of people out there using the kits, so what does everyone use, and why??
Thanks. I appreciate any feedback I can get here.

Simple, find a race fuel distributor and buy some M1 Methanol and mix it 50/50 with distilled water. Either that or use WW fluid and spike each gallon with another 2 qts of either M1 or HEET although the Heet is kind of expensive.

I'm using VP M1 methanol. There is M1, M3, and M5; M1 being the most pure.
Regardless of running straight methanol or 50/50, M1 will give you best results compared to any other solution.
With 25% OD on a late model blower, straight M1 Methanol netted me 78* intake temperatures. Without the methanol, it was 95*.

Yep I run the M1 with the Distilled water 50/50. You can pick the M1 up in 5 gallon cans and then mix it as you need.....

Ira,
I'm using -20 degree washer fluid and HEET (3 bottles per gal). I can pick the stuff up anywhere at pretty much anytime. I use a 5 gal fuel jug with an air tight screw on lid to mix and store the stuff. 3 gallons of washer fluid and nine bottles of heet makes enough "boost juice" to last me about year between the two cars.

My do you guys do 50/50? I run methanol straight. You can also use denatured alcohol from the paint section at wal-mart.

5 gallons of meth lasts me like 10 tanks of gas =(

I appreciate all the feedback guys. I guess like everything else, everyone uses a slightly different formula based on experience. It all sounds good though.

Dont go to far off your original formula if you had it tuned using that..Just find out what the Snow Juice originally was. Mayeb its what Dave said but make sure

Finally reaached someone in Deer Park who is a distributer and he tells me he can get the stuff for me. He also told me to just run over to SK and pick up some M1 and mix it 50/50 with distiilled water because it would be much cheaper and it's exactly the same stuff.
I think I'll take his advice. Thanks to all for the feedback.

I was hoping to have mine on E85 by now, eliminating the need of any type of charge cooling. If Bowling Green Ky does not get it over the Winter, I guess I will be adding a Snow Kit to mine also.

I use the washer fluid/Heet combo as well.....works fine.

I used M1 with nitro, ran great ..
getting ready to replace motor now.:)

Randy, seriously?
Depending on how much you used, you may need to add A LOT of fuel. You tune gasoline to 11.8:1, but NitroMethane's A/F ratio is 3:1.
I still have yet to figure out where to tune it, but it would be somewhere in between those two numbers.
Same thing with running straight Methanol. I am running that, but don't know exactly where to tune it.

Injector Jet size Thumb rule for running nitro & or alky, from gas
use & tune. You start by doubling the jet size.
I havent totaly figuard out the tune with running nitro/alky though
snow system with gas injectors used as main power. But I hope
to with my stock motor before swaping in a new motor.
You can use nitropain, it will mix with gas, unlike straight nitro.
Just pour in gastank, and swap jets, and tune A/F.
I am not able to do any testing right now, I broke my timing
chain I think, havent taken the motor down yet to know exactly
what is brokin. Could be a piston.
I bought some nitro, but have not tried it out yet. I was joking
about blowing my motor up using nitro. But I did break my motor
testing my snow system, getting ready to leave for the shootout.
I got lucky that my car broke down just a couple miles from home.
and not on the road to the shootout in the middle of bungle~~~~town

So that's my problem then! Explains everything. I'm not putting it in the fuel tank where it should go!!

My car is set up to use the wiper fluid reservoir which is less than 2 quarts. I thought it wasn't working because the green light is only flickering when the car goes into boost. I filled it yesterday and haven't driven it more than 100 miles and I haven't driven it very hard. It's already empty.
According to Snow: "In most instances our standard 2 quart reservoir works well to provide the required amount of fluid. We have seen that a 2 quart reservoir provides enough fluid for a 400-500 hp car to make 12-15 full throttle quarter mile passes."
How fast are you guys going through the juice?

If you are using the snow system with the MAF sensor, you adjust the start and full voltages via the dials. If you just get a flicker under boost, then you have your start voltage probably a little high, and your full voltage higher than that. To know for sure though you need to do pulls where you watch ACT against RPM and MAF voltages, with your basic goal to maintain a nice steady ACT temp regardless of boost increasing.
I did 5 runs and used about 2/3 of the standard snow reservoir.
I would check for leaks if you haven't driven it that much. I had a fitting crack on the pump output at a seam where it was cast together. Defective fitting. Went through fluid real fast then.
Oh and the LM-1 and LC-1 meters work of Lambda, not Air/Fuel ratio. On that meter the Air/Fuel ratio is calculated based on the fuel type you put in. Thus you tune to Lambda, which is a constant regardless of type of fuel. Though to make safe power you do use different Lambda values for different fuels. Details on this type of stuff including different fuels and what ratios to see can be find on the Innovate user forums.
