before anyone jumps to conclusions i do plan on getting my sc running again one of these days
but my plans for the sc wont get me the car that i want
there are very few sc's running around in the 10 second range
one day i hope i can get mine to crack high 12's and i think thats as far as i have a desire to take it
what id like to build is a big block car id like some opinions from other people on here for motor choice and cost of build and such
id love to squeese a 460 into a fox thunderbird or a sn95 mustang body
if its a sn95 i would find a v6 car with a blown motor and go from there
what are peoples opinions on this
would it be better to do a 351 cleveland and throw a shot of nitrous on it?
or possibly a 408 windsor?
id like to get a 10 second car and of course i know itll cost alot but id like to try and keep it to around 10,000 or under if possible
any advice?

You can't put 460 in the same conversation of a small block.
Come on, Jim.

I will give you my opinion on this since I happen to have both the SC and a 460ish Fox bodied convertible Stang. The Mustang is a blast to drive it is considerably more powerful than my SC will ever be, will run 9.90's and is a street legal car that can actually be driven but it sits in the garage and I drive the SC everyday.

Hummmm
Go with Roush 427 with powerglide but I think you would be most proud getting to the 12's 11's 10's with 3.8V6 engine using power and tunning. I know once you reach 12's from there on its fun stick with the 3.8 show your talant in building true horsepower engine

its not so much to be built for numbers really
yea itll make it to the dragstrip now and then
but im building it for the street
im only 20 and i go to the hangout with all the local car guys and the fastest cars there run in the 10's and 11's and are owned by kids my age 19,20,21 year olds
im trying to build a car that can compete with these kids if not to end up with the fastest car around or atleast my car will be known around :D

Jim,
You should do what those kids did and have your parents buy you an already built 10 second ride and go from there

A 460 will make a heavy azz truck or land yacht scoot so i'd imagine it would be really nasty in a t-bird!

A 460 is really nasty in a T-Bird, I know because I have ridden in ProstreetRich's 500 something cubic inch big block T-Bird.

Big block fox tbird. I've seen 2 really really really nice ones. 514 c.i. in a fox bird w/ a 9" rear end, C6 trans, race seats, cage, skinny's up front, slicks out back, nice shiny paint, cowl hood. I keep an ad in my wallet of one for sale a few years ago, makes me want to build one every time I look at it. It was a black 86 TBird. Saw it at an NMRA race for sale and wished I had the $30k to take it home.

you can build a 5.0 up cheap....just do a 331 stroker with a TFS top end and throw a supercharger on it...then beef up the suspension...you can get a stock 5.0 in the 13's pretty easy if you can drive...
a combo like that would be good for low 11's with a good driver.
