I went to buy a fuel pressure regulator today at autozone. I had checked the website and there was a $18 price for one, i figured that was it. So i go to the store and expectedly so, i figured they give me the wrong regulator for my 95. They gave me a 3 bolt one for the early style...so i tell them, they show me the other option which was the correct 2 bolt one....the price....$40 bux! I need it so i bought it, get home and check the price for a 4.6 bird which uses the same 2 botl regulator...and the price is $40 somethin bux....sorry, i just found it weird. At first glance they look exactly the same except for the mounting bracket...i just couldnt explain my self why the price difference.

One difference may be that Ford used both 2.7 (39.16 psi) and 3.8 Bar (55.14 psi) Pressure regulators. SC's use the 39.14 psi regulators meaning that they will always maintain a 39.14 psi differencial pressure across the fuel injectors. So if you have 10 psi boost pressure your actual fuel pressure referenced to atmospheric is 49.14 psi.

so were the injectors leaky ?

or did the new regulator fix it ?
