Disconnected sensor?

Hi Guys,

I was working on my 95 SC last weekend and noticed a sensor that is not connected. It's on a 3/4" hose (heater?) below the throttle body. There is a rubber boot on the electrical connection but there is no wire connected to it.

I'm not sure what it could be other than a temp sensor. My shop manual doesn't even show a sensor on that hose.

Does anyone know that it is and if it should be connected to something?

Regards,
Lee

Do you have electronic climate control? Sounds like the cold air defeat temp.sensor that stops the Electronic Climate Control from blowing cold air until coolant temp reaches 100 deg. F or so.

Yes I do have ECC. That makes sense because my heater does blow cold air on my foot until it warms up. I'll look in my book tonight and see if I can locate the wire it connects to. Thanks.

That was it, the shop manual calls it a thermal lockout switch. I found the loose wire on the harness directly below the switch, reattached it and guess what, the blower waits until the engine warms up before coming on now.

Thanks again for putting me on the right track!
