can i use them? i know this has been posted before, and i used the search, but i couldn't find any info. i have an exhaust leak at the header and i read somewhere in here that the 99 stang gaskets are better. any other recommedations are EXTREMELY welcome. this is driving me insane, sounds like horrible valvetrain noise.

thanks in advance

I don't see why they would have to be mustang ones, there is no gasket stock so you could always put one in to fix it. I know 3.8's up to 98 are the same. I think the exhaust ports are the same on the splitport heads (99+) but I am not positive.

Yup, the Mustang header gaskets will work on the SC heads, they go back several years, and are actually a T-Bird p/n. The 96 - 97 3.8 N/A Birds with the tubular manifolds had them too. The Ford p/n is F5SZ 9448 AA , should be pretty cheap from the dealer, under $15 for a pair.
