Chapter Member Photo Update

Let's see how the turn-out for the Carlsbad meet goes down. Perhaps we can find an good spot for a picture and kill two birds with one stone.9-06-02

Yes, we are going to take a new photo of our Southern Cal Club so that we can keep our membership picture current.
If you have come to a meet, then bring your SC and crew out to take our picture.
We will tentatively set this for the 28th of September.
We need to agree on a backdrop for the picture.
Here are some suggestions to start with;
1) The Queen Mary,
2) The Big Rock [Malibu],
3) The "Hollywood" sign,
4) San Juan Capistrano Mission.

If you have a suggestion let us know.

how about in the "desert" somewhere. i think that would look cool. just an idea. i could probably find a place

Jose, i like the idea of the desert, mainly because i live near by (escondido). not sure of an exact place, but im sure it would look good. er, no, i saw "S.C. Auto dealership", no relation to thunderbird SC, but i just remebered now... it was in san clemente... later

Ron, i was hoping to shoot for carlsbad on the 28th... maybe we could find a spot nearby carlsbad to take a picture or two. how does the coastline sound? how many cars are expected to show? im pretty much up for anywhere. i think it would be a good idea to try and do it the same day as we go to the track... we need a picture of the quadruplets... but can we take it from the back? cuz my front end got a little tweaked in a parking lot...we wont get into that...

The desert would be nice, except its still too hot to play down there. When I lived in Yuma the weather would start getting comfortable Oct./Nov. The sand dunes would be an impressive back drop. Just don't get stuck in the sand like I did one night. I drove out to the Stargate movie set in my patrol car and buried it up to the frame in sand. Lucky there was a guy operating a D-9 Cat that took pity on me and dragged me back to terra firma. :D

Well Jose, if you find a place in the desert that would offer a great back drop for the club, that is great. Like Mark, I wonder about the heat factor. Of course we are all manly men here and a little heat stroke wouldn't hurt us any, but our cars might blow up in the process.
So Jose, find the spot and then we will discuss it OK?
Matt, my concern for taking the picture in San Diego is that we don't know who definitely will make Carlsbad.

When I posted the plan for an updated Chapter photo, a date for Carlsbad had not been set.
Unless anyone has objection, we will set aside the Chapter photo until after Carlsbad. HOWEVER, if we get everyone at Carlsbad we might consider a photo shot in the vicinity.

Sound like a plan everyone??????

Ron, that sounds like a a great idea...i always wondered why you were "in charge here" (wipes the brown off of nose) no objections here... i have a suggestion, can we take the quadruplet picture from the rear passenger side? or the front drivers side? im missing a passenger side corner lens... wounldnt want mine to stand out or anything... i mean, c'mon here... the new guys car is falling apart... i also broke the little clip that the passenger side visor clips into... that sucks... my rearview mirror fell of the second day i had the car... and like a month ago i got backed into in a parking lot... i have horrible luck... ill cry...

This should be a terrific time down in San Diego. A little racing, some good people to hang with at the track and an old fashion eating contest. EVOE!
