Midwest Meet Potential?

So with the thought from the other thread - I'll start this one so we don't confuse anyone.

What kind of interest is there for something next year? Hang out? Show 'n Shine? Go to the track? Cruise? I know that Tony and Mike are working on a meet in Great Bend Kansas so maybe we'll aim for later in the summer? I realize the SC's don't like heat - but I don't want to interfere with that meet.

What's everyone thing?

There is also that meet in Tulsa next summer, the Big ford meet. Its listed here somewhere.

I'd love to make it to as many meets as possible.

It will definitely be a track event with all the crap I've been hearing on here! It would be nice to hook on with an event in and around our area. (Iowa,Nebraska etc.) Then we won't have to do all the planning & prep this year.

There was the Midwest Bash in Milwaukee back in 2005 started by Pro Street Rich on SCCoA. Attendance was a big issue on making it a annual thing so I think it was just a one year deal, you'd have to ask him if he'll do another. I’d be up for going to another Midwest meet, maybe something in Iowa to that sorts?

Yeah - I'd be set for Iowa. That's not too bad of a drive for me - but WI is a bit farther than I want to go. That''s partially why I haven't gone to the Shootout for the last few years - that, and lack of money and vacation time.

But depending on where in Iowa, it makes a big drive for Kansas guys so it's hard to please everyone.

I am generally open for any meets providing I have more than a couple of days notice.

From what I see so far for 2008 we have:

1. Our KC summer meet.
2. We have the possible meet being put together for Great Bend, KS.
3. We have the Ford Meet in Tulsa, OK that Mike Butler has informed us of.
4. There are the Nebraska Thundercat get togethers. I went to one this year and it is not that far away.
5. I think Marc suggested having a once a month dinner get together that might be a good idea.
6. Let's not forget the Club-Clash the Iowa SCCOA puts on every year.
7. Then there is the SC Shootout in Ohio too. I know this quite the drive but some guys drive 21 hours from Canada to get there. I went to my first one this year and I had a really good time, (not counting dinner at Quaker Steak :mad:) I am already planning on going back for 2008.

I guess I am saying we have opportunities here.
