No problem. I heard it on the radio over lunch and was already thinking what do I need to get for the blue SC. So, I will be there Sunday morning looking for blue interior pieces and some other small stuff.

It looks like the fuel vapor charcoal cannister that traps gas fumes. I had one on my F-250 that looked just like that.

Jim,
If you don't mind, when you find a decent looking SC in the junk yard, can you pick it up for me? If you can deliver it to my house that same day, I'll give you an extra $5 and a cheeseburger. Deal? :)

Yeah Duane, I will bring it over and put it on a pedastal in your front yard!:D Can't wait to hear the home owners association!

I think it should be OK but I haven't dealt with them that much.

No. That is the charcoal canister. It needs to be upright to work. Otherwise you will start getting a c/e light with an evap emissions code for a purge flow sensor.

Well....I guess it COULD cause it if there was something the computer saw wrong with the PFS and tried to compensate it elsewhere, but it is not likely. Do you have a thread for your miss?

**** to far for me to make and i really need some parts

Nope, no thread on the miss... Its a mid-rpm (Possibly high rpm) miss under load only. Idles just fine. Only reason I know it is because I was about to do a hard launch, and as I was bringing the rpms up, it was cutting out in a pattern.... The torque converter totally masks the issue. any time I'm actually putting any load on the motor, its spinning soo fast, the miss isn't obvious.

If your going to swap a cam, why not get a custom grind to go well with the combo of mods you'll have at the time? Sure, it may cost a bit more - but might be better suited than stock cam.

i'm gonna go for Dalke's FAST challenge next year... the 89 5-speed cam is the most agressive stock one.
next winter, i'm building up a new engine... to handle LOTS of boost... i'm gonna drop the compression to 8:1, a forged rotating assembly, either ported or aftermarket heads, ported intake, BIG valves, roller rockers, pushrods, etc...
right now, i'm gonna just get my current project finished, and my car running reliably with the new intake before the shootout...
chris, you got any heads layin around for me to get off you too? :)
seawalkersee
11-17-2007, 05:54 AM
Maybe....But I think you are going about this in the wrong direction. The cam is yours, provided you can do this all on your own. I would just like to see you follow through with a project. Also, we will talk more about the engine build later because I think you can build better power in other places sans low compression and a lot of boost. Remember, too much boost equals extreme heat and will require you to have an additional cooler as well. What are the heads worth to you? You want them stock:eek:?

i know what the engine build is going to involve, and i know where i'm making the power at... i'm not increasing displacement, ad i'd love to hear your ideas. right now, i'm just gonna focus on getting it DONE on my stock motor...
then i'll build a bigger beastie from a spare JY block next winter. :)
