Stripped SC mount bolt...

Actually the threads on the intake stripped on the front SC mounting bolt. How bad for the SC would it be to run with just the two rear bolts tight?

I think it would depend on how bad it is stripped out.....

You can heli-coil or use a keen-sert to fix it.....
 
Should be able to do a threaded insert there with it mounted on the car. Check with a local machine shop or engine shop for the proper insert and how to do it.
 
Mike had the type of answer I was looking for, I don't feel like pulling the thing off again with as little time as I have to work on it right now.

Mike is right. The inserts ar easy to install and look like a barrel. Once in place, the hardened threads are almost impossible to break.
 
I discovered today that the previous owner was using a bolt that was an inch+ too short! So I'm going to get a tap and try to clean up the few threads the bolt was engaging. Can anyone verify the thread pitch? I think it is 1.75, I count 14 threads/inch.
