The late model blower is ready for assembly after a port and rebuild.
The rotor coating is intact.
There is a bit of oily schmegma on several of the lobe ends.
How are you guys cleaning these or are you leaving well enough alone?
Any first hand recomendations are much appreciated.

Thanks
Bob

i used carb cleaner on my 94 rotors. and just rubbed it with my fingers till it was mostly gone. i didnt wanna use anything too harsh on the coating.

FYI any built up oil/gunk will only help seal. When I last cleaned off a set of rotors, it only made the blower a little noisier.

Carb cleaner is pretty harsh. I always use something water based like "Oil Eater"

It takes the carbon off the GTP rotors with no effort at all.

If you have the early '94-'95 SC rotors with coating still intact, leave it, as that coating is pretty fragile. If you have a later "S-model" or GTP rotors the coating is much better at not flaking off, unless you have bearing issues.

well enough

Thank you all for your replies.
I opted to reasemble as is. There wasn't a lot of buidup.
It's all back together now and spinning smooth as silk.
Next time I'll use just a fraction of the sealing coumpound.

Cheers
Bob
