Thats letting it shift itself which is kinda lame...Dry pavement flat ground 0/100ish

Honestly it does not seem to slow i mean off the line it probley fells slow off the line because your used to that lightweight Stang. Also your Auto let you get awwful far in to the red line lol

What is it doing at the top of first gear? That doesn't look good.

Doesn't look slow at all. Now I definitely want a set of ported heads and a nice cam.

i think its pretty quick. u and me would have a good race. but i think i'd win:D

im guessing it was burning the tires all the way to redline. and when they finally gripped the tranny went thru what was left of first. but it letting u go to about 5500 b4 shifting which is strange.
am i right jacob ?
u prolly have the same problem as me....traction :p

Dave lately the check guages light has gone berserk when i hit red line or ... or near so.. The plug is bad on the oil pressure guage's sending unit and if it gets to vibrating around and the guage drops off and trips the check guages light.. I've verified the oil pressure with my mechanical tester its just the stupid wiring harness has gone to crap i need to get an new engine harness.. Every once in awhile it will drop to zero oil pressure going down the road and you hit a bump and wheee oil pressure again or you get out and jiggle the connector etc.. Notice also how it wants to pull real hard in 2nd gear but doesent do crap in 1st??? keep in mind this car in its current condition is running 10.01's in the 1/8th (of course the outside temp was in the high 80's low 90's) last night it was 45deg or so outside.. If you notice about 10 seconds in its only doing 70mph or so but then it really wants to pull hard? ~~~? It felt slow to me before i bought the stang compared to stock... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MoyesRX2mnQ If you notice in this the lightning runs a 8.5 i ran a 10.5 BUT at the end you can see where my car hits that spot it does in 2nd where it pulls really hard.. I dam near catch the lightning before the end.... If it would do that at lower speeds it would be fine!

Yeah thats about right but it likes the higher rpms with the cam in it anyway.. What with my cam is a realistic redline anyway?? it was spinning through 1st pretty good (didnt have that problem at the track but if it did i probably would have got going alot better since the engine would have wound up a bit!)

Well Just some food for thought, is your local 1/8 a dump. Mine is and its uphill, you can actually see the manual cars roll back at the start. Anyway within weeks of the shootout I ran a best of a 10.1 at my local track. Weeks later, same temp, at the shootout I ran around a 9.5 1/8. The combo of no track prep and uphill can make a big dif in 1/8. Take that baby to a nice 1/4 track in spring.

im sorry, im kinda a moron about this 1/8th mile stuff, what does that 10 sec 1/8 mile make the 1/4 time be?

No track is real nice good prep... the other 1/8th mile track is so slick you run about a asecond slower there from tire spin! im an hour drive from 1/8th mile probably 3 from the closest 1/4

It definitely looks like first gear acceleration is off compared to 2nd and 3rd. It looks like it picks up around 40mph. If you didn't have tire spin, then I would wonder what is the status of your transmission. It would be nice to datalog and see if it is a computer / sensor / tuning issue.

if you notice also around 65/70mph it really takes off again??? tranny????? i dunno it don't slip or anythign but it feels really slugish at certain rpms/speeds.. Supposed to be getting my 5%js and 10% crank today thinking about throwing the 5% js on there for a total of 10% od just to see what happens.

I don't see your car doing very well with the crap exhaust that you have. Every stock piece must be taken off and replaced with a good and larger exhaust system.
You may just need a tune. Your SC should be blowing that Muffdang off of the road. My friend had a 98 GT with an O/R H-pipe and a catback, 3.90's, CnL CAI, upper plenum, 75mm TB, 80mm MAF, and a PI intake. He was running 14.0's at 98mph. I would pull two cars on him in the SC with a 5%, unported late model, MP inlet, catless exhaust, and a CAI.

It was about 7 seconds after it stopped spinning you will see it catch and then speed back up. I agree with Casey on the exhaust though.

I figured the video would mess with you guys a bit at first... Though it is very strong for a truck it doesent spin that much when its total dry outside hehe maybe till about 40mph or so but not 65ish like the video :) I have spanked a few 5.4 tritons and 5.9 magnums with it though

Exhaust is my next project once i get the PI intake swap on the mustang done (cheap plastic a*#( intake crossover is cracked on it!) Sick of eating gas driving the SC and my truck to work! mustang is waaaaaaay cheaper to commute in... Though i need to put a clutch in it before long too (140k on stocker!) its been getting real stiff and is adjusted ALL the way... Kentucky clutch will sell me an OE type clutch with a HD pressure plate (more clamping force than stock) for $95 Exchange AND turn the flywheel... So that will be on the agenda soon...
