THIS IS NOT A FOR SALE THREAD !!
ok heres the deal guys im thinking of selling my current POS and starting over with a nicer one. i bought it sort of running with blown hg's in april and havent been really able to drive it since, the car had an electrical nightmare and a bunch of problems.. but it has its pros, it has zero rust and looks like it was garaged paint shines really good except dents on passenger side.
the guy gave it to me with reman heads and freshly done hg's by him im guessing because they were blown. i did them one time and the heads lifted , so i did them again right now and car runs like crap.
what should i do ?? should i tow it to a shop and leave it there getting fixed $$$$$ , or should i keep bustings my brains with it ( dont really have time to work on it and no garage ) or should i sell and start over ?? you guys think it's worth to keep it ?
need some advice please :D

lol these guys have been great helping me alot , but i just cant seem to fix it.
right now it struggles to start but when it does, vacuum goes to like 18 then after 10 seconds drops to 10-12 and idles there for a while and it just sounds like it misses, if i try to back it up the tach jumps a lil bit car sputters abs light comes on , check engine light comes on and car dies..
i just did the hg's and i see the fluid disappearing from the bottle just cant afford another head job, too much time in the car im just tired of it

Your losing coolant. Have you tried to track down where currently? If you had already done the job once and it leaked again afterwards, did you find your mistake? Find out if it seems to leak in the same cylinder as before. The biggest thing is that you don't put something back together until you find your mistake or the initial problem. A cracked block could cause this problem. It sounds like you need someone near you to go over and help ya out for a weekend and re-motivate you.

when i re-did it i saw i didnt put rtv on the intake gaskets ,i used tty bolts and didnt replace my old o2 sensors those are the only things i found wrong.. the coolant was in all the cylinders the gaskets werent blown.
i havnt really put alot of coolant in the bottle after it goes down , i got small leak in the tstat housing
the problem is i never seen an sc down here  lol , and my friends are civic and subaru heads.

also i forgot to mention i got a leak on the sc top where the sc flange is cracked do you guys think it could be vacuum leak ?
i just havnt bothered to reseal it because the first time i did the hgs i was getting 17-18 at idle and the car would do the same thing in reverse.
i just thought about leaving it to a shop because im starting a better paying job

Shops tend to not know jack s*** about our cars... You have a vac leak thats one of your problems for sure! did you get the heads checked out??? most machine shops dont charge much to magnaflux heads and check them for trueness ($15ish) also its cheap to have them decked if they have warpage.. Check the block deck surface make sure its true also! did you use new head bolts??? Intake water passages should always have RTV!!!! I don't care what anyone else says about it..I ALWAYS use RTV on intake gaskets in the areas where coolant passes through!!!!! BTW i believe with a stock am i was around 25hg at idle...

i got the heads pressure checked , resurfaced, valve job, new arp studs torqued to 85 ft lbs with 30 wt oil, intake gaskets copper coated with rtv all around. im going to try to fix the leak and put the new o2's to see if it helps

Hang in there--if your O2 sensors and vacuum leak get fixed, it might well take flight!
You might put tie wraps on all the vacuum hoses that don't have a clamp.
While your at it double check the condition of all your hoses.
Good Luck

ok car ran alot better with the new o2's and the leak somewhat sealed still has a small leak somewhere, it was reading 15hg, but it would idle for a while running ok but then all of the sudden it would try to die and stumble but i guess the computer would bring it back up.
i unhooked the iac connector and didnt change to much, but then i unhooked the ect sensor to get the fan going since it dont come up and it died. ??

How about your Harmonic Balancer & crank sensor.
Try a search and see if you find similar symptoms.
Hang in there!

the balancer wobbles a lil bit but the bolt still in there , and i dont get an upshift light when cranking..
car sometimes doesnt start by the switch when cold , i have to jump the solenoid , but when hot starts just fine with the switch..
i think im going to call an electrician to come look at it tomorrow to see why its dying sometimes with a load.

made a thread on the technical section to get more answers but for those who are following here .got some codes
hooked the computer and got these codes with the engine warm and car off.
118 ( coolant temp sensor circuit above maximum voltage ) ect ?? changed it twice, fan still doesnt work , works during the test though.
157 ( Mass airflow sensor below minimum voltage ) bad maf ? if i disconnect it while running doesnt really after the car.
211 ( Profile ignition pickup circuit faulty ) is this the crank sensor ? takes a couple of tries to start it.
212 ( Loss of tach input to eca , spout circuit grounded ) cam sensor ? changed it not too long ago..
happy holidays guys.
