Hi guys,

To old and new friends, I'm Lee (formerly rivlee, now sdlee1) and I still have & drive my '90 Silverbird. :)

I've been MIA for the last 2 1/2 yrs because I've been in/out of hospitals a LOT for; cancer, 2 different blood viruses, a bug that was eating away my spine, an intestine that just shut down and a stroke. My advocate nurse is amazed I'm still alive. :p But, I'm a stubborn ~~~ as the old timers around here, I'm sure, will agree. ;)

Now, the important stuff. I got into an accident about a yr ago, ripping off the front bumper and all the lights. I didn't have the proper coverage, so it took me a little time to get the money together to get it repaired, but I got it done and finally generated a good MAF function curve (a real time consumming job). Paul said it couldn't be done before he left for AK - that turkey! :p

I've got some cosmetic work to do - the clearcoat on the rear spoiler bubbled up, the black paint on the B pillars needs to be re-done and some of the silver pin stripe tape on the rear needs to be replaced. Not very difficult stuff, but I don't have a lot of energy these days, so it'll take some time. Oh, and I have to get and modify the black plastic grill in front of the windsheild which got destroyed durring the M120 install. I definately miss the windsheild washer. :o

After that's done, I plan on taking it to JBL Racing down here to have it dyno tuned. Then it'll FINALLY be done. I really mean it. :D

Heh, after what I've been thru the last 2 1/2yrs and being on chemo for the last 6 mo.s, shoveling is definitely out. :o Just getting what I'm planning done is going to be tough.

The doc's given me an estimate of time left and I indend to use what I've got driving, not tinkering. :p

BTW; When is Famosa? If I get a break from the chemo treatments then, I'll try to make it.

Thanks for the thought Manny, but in my current situation down here in San Diego, a body shop was the best way.

BTW; If you've got 1 of those plastic grills, I'd gladly send you a check for your time and shipping. Cruising the junkyards is something else that's not good for me. Just e:mail me @ sdlee1@cox.net . ;)

Fix that e-mail link would ya! That's some lady named Sharon. Unless you've modified more than just your car. I don't think that's you.
The old man still knows how to type...kinda! Get that thing Krazy glued together (or whatever it takes) and put a tune on it....There's racing to be done. I've finally got something that can keep up with you in the twisties if you feel like taking a cruise. Good to hear from you old timer! We had feared the worst up here....that you went and bought another Dodge;)

I've got the duct tape, lets go racing,

Al stupefying us with his wit as usual. Al, don't be angry with the world just because you were one of the many cool-aid drinkers who fell for the "Got a Hemi?" campaign. They're great trucks if you're into the gas guzzling, funny looking, mullet having ex-f body owners club. J/K, next time one of our Fords break down you'll tow me home, right?

Can't even spell cool-aid [sic] right and I'm suposed to believe you are a teacher?

I know you meant it in jest and so did I.

Also...for a funny looking gas guzzling truck, the big 3 are all following the same design pattern and I think this year's fullsize Dodge truck has the best MPG in its class. What was I supposed to do? Buy a Titan or a Tundra? *pukes a little in mouth*

Jest....I think not! I've had a sour spot for all things MOPAR since that biddy at Carlsbad blew my friggin doors off in her whistling Cherokee a few years back....with a child seat in the back......and a cup of coffee in the cupholder...I was actually trying to get paired up with an SRT-8 this past weekend just so I could get some revenge(do I have Hemi-envy?). Unfortunately I drew some beast with a BB Chevrolet and a big honkin' blower stickin' out of the hood...another lesson in humility....

I've been getting my chemo (not fun) and making visits to 3 dr's. That's still a lot better than the 1st nearly yr after I moved down here: in/out of 3 hospitals, moving around with a walker and wearing a 2 peice clamshell body brace. Just grtting into/out of a car was very slow & painful. But, as of last week, the bug that was eating away my spine was declared gone and I'm getting around almost "normally".

1; Sorry about that, lee.maust@cox.net

2; Hemi's are fun - at least my Magnum was. After the move down here, I was dead broke, so I asked them to repo the vehicle - anothe 15K of debt.

3; Manny, I 'm not sure how it happened (things are a little confused from the time in Clairmont) but I don't have any grills in front of the glass, so I guess I need both. :o

4; Anthony, I thought you'd given up all things SC when you got rid of your freak engined SC. :p What's the status on your "dream" car?

Nearly all the SC stuff is gone. Some engine install hoops and a few coil springs still remain, but the people here are too good, or entertaining to leave behind.
The 'car that came in boxes' has been a great project so far. Many of the OEM parts stayed in boxes in favor of something a little....different;) It lays down 401 horse and 378 ft-lbs to the wheels, weighs 2400 with me in it, runs on pump gas (10.7:1) and will get to 100 in around 7.5 seconds (time slips to prove it). It goes around corners like a cat on carpet and stops as quick as you need it to. If I remember right, that makes it an extremely safe car by your definition, right? One of the [I]safest[I] I've ever driven. It has plates on it and I drive it to work 2-3 days per week weather permitting. Did I mention that it is smog exempt forever?

And, you're ALL wippersnappers (even Manny), just ask John. I actually thought Anthony was older - I guess I just don't think of school teachers as being "kids". :p

Manny, thanks for keeping your eyes peeled. :)
