Team WAR - Weller Automotive Racing, making our debut in 2008.

Getting my 1991 Thunderbird ready.
About to install the new engine / tranny combo and see how everything runs before making more adjustments and upgrade parts. Special thanks to myself for the long hours and hard work involved getting everything prepped for the changeover and freshly built transmission.

This weekend isnt happening with the 100 mph winds and rain pouring down here in the Bay area. Next weekend is looking better.
Get the engine installed, then head to the San Jose auto show to see Bumblebee the Concept Camaro from Transformers the movie and the rest of the 09 vehicles coming out.

Anybody else going ???

Coming along pretty good, thanks for asking Jim.

The engine and transmission have been installed into the car. I had to remove the transmission and tear it back down then rebuild it with a different part after it was installed, but it is now back in the vehicle again.
I was having an idle issue with the engine, it wouldnt stay running. Had to make some adjustments to the idle set screw on the throttle body and it still had problems .. turned out to be a bad EEC that wasnt operating the IAC valve .. so I went to Pick and Pull junkyard yesterday and picked up another EEC, put it in the car, and now it idles and runs great. I need to put the exhaust system on it and do a couple other things before I put it on the ground and take it for a test drive. Right now I have it set up for my stage 1 phase .. meaning, stock EEC and rear end gears. Once I get it running and take it to the track and see how good it does, I will move onto Phase 2 - which consists of quite a few more parts, with a custom Chip, 3.73 rear end, and a Mustang GT MAF, among other things.

Heres a couple new pics, the engine, the car, and the exhaust sytem I will be using ( 2.5" dual exhaust with 4 cats, and H pipe - from a 2001 Mach 1 Mustang ) and the Mufflers are Bypass pressure sensative OEM from a 2003 Cobra.

The engine I am using is a 2003 Explorer Aluminum Block 4.6 with a Mark 8 6 quart oil pan and JBA headers, ported out, and 70mm Throttle body. Transmission is my own custom built from a 2005 F150 Truck.

Thanks Omar. I just got my last W2 today .. time to figure out how much $$ I will get back from income tax .. except ALL of the parts I need to finish this buildup are already purchased and sitting on a shelf, so its all play $.

Your ride should be finished by the time mine is done. Theres always that last run of adjustment and tweaking to get it just right when its finally finished.

Ugh ... looks like I have another project.

My mom owns 2 Mark VIII's .. a 94 stock and a 95 LSC. Tonight she crashed the 94 ... so it is being towed to my house. The 95 has a small problem with the air compressor not turning on so it wasnt driveable - I was going to order a new compressor and / or replace the relay if that was the problem, but I hadnt got around to checking yet. But now it looks like I may have spare parts to use ..... another thing to fix. She is okay though - just shaken up, luckily it was a nice solid Lincoln and not a thin metal piece of junk import.
