Tyler thinks the Cougar's foglights are out of place. I think he's a ricer. You decide:

tyler says:
btw, i'm working on ideas to ditch those fugly foglights
Ryan says:
which ones?
tyler says:
hehe
tyler says:
the ones in your cats 'mouth'
Ryan says:
why, they rock
tyler says:
look like doo doo there
Ryan says:
you're a moron
tyler says:
they need to be recessed
Ryan says:
thats the best spot for them
Ryan says:
and no, they don't
tyler says:
idden
tyler says:
yes huh
Ryan says:
why
tyler says:
and hid projectors instead
tyler says:
lower profile
tyler says:
and you can keep your covers on
tyler says:
still be lit up good
Ryan says:
you're a ~~~~ing ricer lol
tyler says:
it would look sweet with a black mesh grille in the mouth, and projectors on either side
tyler says:
low profile, but light it up when you need it
tyler says:
i'm serious

They are tinted silver & do go with the grill & bumper silver strip, tag frame,green/blue hugh lense, Better left alone. FWW I snagged a pair (OEM) of a 92 XR7 that were in the same location but recessed. I don't know how to start a poll but if I did I give the lights an atta-boy!

Dude, seriously, shut the ~~~~ up. You have side exit dryer duct exhaust on a supercoupe using a cherry bomb a resonator, and no mufflers.

sinhumane

cherry bomb is the brand, its by no means a glasspack, just a baffled DI/DO resonator. i've gotten some oval tips to fix my dryer duct exhaust.. :)

My thoughts exactly. There's some things about everyones car that they spent time to work out and do how they wanted. In all honesty, we give jason too much ~~~~ about the yellow car.

Ryan,

I think you located the lights well... I believe that foglights should be placed further inward than the head lights to fill in some of the gap b/w the headlights. Having said that, the only thing i might have done different (pure opinion) is get the lights with the more elongated oval shape. I'm just partial to those lights. Looks good though. Hell of a lot more sexy than the front of my car, lol.

EDIT: Something like these, maybe even a lil thinner and longer...

Oooh, Actually, I like that idea... The oval shape would go better with the overal curvyness of the car. I'll try that next time. ($20 lights to start with, so I can change them at very little loss lol)

351cat
01-15-2008, 02:36 AM
those lights in that picture are for a shape reference only, those particular lights are pretty U-G-L-Y, lol (just found the pic on the net)

Yep, I like the look... Couldn't pull off the yellow though. Jason's bumblebird probably could. Never know, I might be able to get clear ones and annodize the interior in a greenish color

I'm finally getting into the visual stuff... Its not good for my wallet, but I think it'll turn out nicely :) I've still gotta draw up a plenum cover design too... God I'm slacking lol. Hopefully my mind will be less focused on things besides work tomorrow and I'll be able to do some creative designing.

i'm getting close to being able to concentrate on looks... i've got an aluminum intake i gotta put on, then i'm pretty much done w/ the drivetrain for a while ('cept for the bracing) Hope to get some wheels, then work on getting some rust repaired... :(

Seriously, I've got an extra set of 16" early SC/XR7 wheels if you're interested. And if you want to do a hub swap, I've got a set of 18" wheels with some great tires on them to.

2TonCat
01-15-2008, 11:27 AM
So lets see..

I have:
- Stock 15" cougar wheels

Mike has:
- Stock 16" xr7/sc wheels
- Aftermarket 18" wheels

Joel has:
- Factory Fanblades
- Aftermarket 16" wheels
- Aftermarket 18" chrome things
- Aftermarket 18" foundmetals

that's 28 wheels!

Wrong.

8 factory fanblade 15"
4 Mille Miglia Spyders 16"
4 Neeper Mayhem 17"
4 Fondmetal 7200 18"

Soon I will also have:

4 Fondmetal 7200 20"
4 Mille Miglia Spyder 18"
4 Mille Miglia Spyder 17"

Then my wheel conquests will be done. Seriously though I have a TON too many... a lot are for sale.

Out of curiosity, mike, what kind of 18's do u have? been toyin with the hub swap idea, will be a lil while though.

1. TONS more wheels options
2. TONS more brake options
3. Drag wheels available
4. You get to buy new wheels
5. You get to find a new spare tire

Now, all these things are very good reasons!!! :D I will probly be doing those things soon to the... white car. ;)

Read as "An excuse to spend money" ?

Read as "

1. I like my car to look good. Wheels are the most important thing. (look at your 18's effect on your car!) Not many unique options in the 108 pattern.
2. When I'm shredding a country road at 100mph, on 20" wheels and a deer is in the road a ways up, when I am thrashing my car on a roadcourse, I'd like to be able to stop as soon as the car can possibly stop. 2 piston Cobra setups don't always do the job.
3. Find a set of light weight drag wheels and skinnies in the 4.25 pattern.
4. OK, yes I like to buy wheels. Money spent
5. Ok, I was just fishing to get 5 points."

To each his own I guess. I would be more worried that the 20s would have too little sidewall to compensate for the shock of the ginormous breaks.

Thunder95
01-15-2008, 02:29 PM
Dude they're not balloons... a tire would hold up just fine.

Our overall diamter is so large... we can buy heavy duty street/truck tires for our cars!

Sorry I gotta go with Ryan on this one. The shorter sidewalls, while great for steering response, do make it more likely that impact will be transferred to the wheel instead of absorbed by the tire. The shorter the sidewall, the greater the chances of damage. You're usually safe with 18" wheels on our car though. I wouldn't go any bigger however.

2TonCat
01-15-2008, 02:37 PM
hehe, yeah, if you don't believe me, put on 245 35 18s on the back... Try and get WOT traction in first... I did this... No dice.

I'm going to 20's for show/cruising. For normal driving on an mn12, I wouldn't go larger than 18's.

OK maybe 19's.

That's not about sidewall, thats about being way too short for the stock size. That's like having 4.56 gears!

We are going to disagree on this. It was definately the sidewall. Fortunately for me, when you can't get traction with 20's and can't figgure out why-- I'll be there.

First - each to their own on wheels. It's your money and you can put on whateever wheels you want - as long as your happy with 'em - that's all that matters.

And second...

Are you seriously going to be running 100mph down a country road with your 20's? I hate going down a country road in the 96, let alone the 94. I did that on Christmas when going to my grandparents and I went at the most, 35 mph - just trying to keep the car as clean as I can. Just checking :D

I just said that I was using the 20's for cruising and show... not traction getting applications. It's not like I'm going to be scratching my head... I get it.

I know that sidewall height, and ability to flex plays a role in traction, but that tire size is 2.3" difference in diameter. That's stepping down quite a bit, thus lowering your gearing. Even if that diameter was on a 13" rim, you'd still feel a punch in the pants.

Sorry, let me clarify. The country roads in Cameron I used to go on drives on.... they're all relatively new black top with very little use, quite flat actually. Not gravel, nasty ~~~ roads like that... I take the truck when those are on the map.

Gearing had a little to do with it, yes, but the reason I was spinning is because the sidewall wasn't tall enough to obsorb anything. I know you're not stupid, just acknowledging that the sidewall effects both kind of acceleration (Speeing up and slowing down).

I'd prefer more heavily trafficed roads. Smoother pavement, Dust gets brushed off, and the roads are warmer. Plus if I got owned, I would get found within the next month.
