View Full Version : February 2 @ KC - Info updated! 1/28/08
Melon

Here's the updated info for the meet.
Meet at Jason's around 3, Go-Karts at 4, and dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings around 6? Is 2 hours enough time at Go-Karts? Is there other things here to do such as pool, arcade, etc for those who may not want to do the Go-Karts. I chose the Go-Karts because it seemed to go over better than Laser Tag.
Ok - to make it easy - here's some addresses:
Addresses:
Saddlers Indoor Karting
325 North Mur-Len, Olathe, Kansas
Buffalow Wild Wings
13505 S Mur Len Rd, Olathe, KS
Jason's
504 E 126th St, Olathe, KS 66061
Go Karts
Coming soon.. once I find the addy - it's close to BWW's tho.
Now - everyone keep this on topic! If you have anything else to say that isn't related to February 2nd meet - PM each other, or take it over to the Midwest thread.
-Melon
EDIT: Anyone that takes it off topic will be kick in the nuts by me, personally. Don't think I'm serious - just try it. Have a nice day :D
2nd EDIT: There's a Days Inn near the Go-Karts. 211 N Rawhide Dr, Olathe KS. 1 Queen is $45/night - 2 Double bed is $60.
3rd EDIT: Removed other resturuants - put in B-Dubs

As for a place to eat I suggest Bandana's BBQ It's right off I-70 & Noland Road or Arthur Bryant's at the Ameristar Casino off I-435 & 210 Hwy.

Yeah - KC.. I'm not driving to Parsons.. that's a bit much for me to try and make in an afternoon and I've already hassled my supervisor about time off in February.
KC guys - decide where, what, when.. I'm thinking I'll get into town around 3 or 4 unless we're going to do a lunch thing too? I don't care if we do sit at someone's house all day, or work on a car, or just what. I'm just getting out of town for the weekend.

I've raced in the one in Olathe. VERY worth the price. VERY fast carts, and they have other activities to (that cost less). These are the only rental carts I've ever raced that REQUIRED the use of the brake. On the back stretch they can hit 40-45 MPH and that is only because you have to hit the brake at the end to make the hairpin!
Edit: and there are many good places to eat nearby the cart track as well.
Since this is a week form this Saturday we need to figure out what we are doing & where.

I'm actually running a 160* stat. Its pretty much always open, lol. I'll put a 180 in it one of these days. During the winter i can maintain a temp of about 165 to 170 w/ the stock rad and mark VIII fan. It climbs to 190-200 in the summer though... I've got a 3G alternator now, so hopefully i'll have a lil less electrical drain. I'll make sure i have 35 PSI all the way around b4 i leave. I'm shootin for 20 MPG, we'll see. :)

May I strongly suggest a 195 now! This will help you with MPG bigtime. THis weekend will be a good time, you will see 20 with a hotter one.

Eh, i'll do 180 max. Dont forget my motor is 36 years old and punched 40 over... I would rather it not get above 200, and with a 195 itd be around 200 all the time... just my preference. No doubt it would help the MPG though.

1 - Go Karts > Laser Tag
2 - I'm staying over night somewhere in KC area
3 - I'm not going to get up on my weekend off at the butt crack of dawn to be in KC by 10. How about no for me. I was planning to go get there around 2, but I can try for 1... Noon if your lucky.
Why not to some activity in the afternoon and then plan to meet up for dinner around 6 someplace. And those that are already in town, or get to town early - a BS session at Jason's?

So are we eating at Barley's or Granite City? It doesn't matter to me - both are within a mile of each other.
Meet at Jason's around 3, Go-Karts at 4, and dinner around 6? Is 2 hours enough time at Go-Karts? Is there other things here to do such as pool, arcade, etc for those who may not want to do the Go-Karts. I chose the Go-Karts because it seemed to go over better than Laser Tag.
Ok - to make it easy - here's some addresses and distances:
Distance
Jasons to Go Karts - 3.2 miles
Go Karts to Barley's Overland Park - 3 miles
Go Karts to Barley's Shawnee - 11 miles
Go Karts to Granity City - 3.5 miles
Addresses:

I like Buffalo Wild Wings. When this was originally being discussed I thought it was more of a late lunch (2:00-3:00). 6:00 is later than I really wanted to meet & eat. I have too much going on on weekends to make a whole day of it as well.
Ryan's is a hell no for me. I want good food. There is a Bar-B-Q place called Oklahoma Joe's www.oklahomajoesbbq.com 11950 Strangline Rd Olathe
They have a menu you can view on their web site. The prices are decent. I haven't eaten at the one in Olathe but I have eaten at their one on Mission Rd and it was good.

Lets give the Smokehouse thing a break for the time being. There have been no less than 5 carjackings from that area in the last month, a shooting yesterday, and a stabbing the other day.
ChrisOKAY!!! In light of recent developements, we are going to Olathe. Any questions? :D

Gameplan for Saturday...
Addresses:
Buffalow Wild Wings
13505 S Mur Len Rd, Olathe, KS
Jason's
504 E 126th St, Olathe, KS 66061
Go Karts
Coming soon.. once I find the addy - it's close to BWW's tho.
It's my meet, come if you want to :D First post has been updated with this info.
