new timing gasket, steel core

This timing chain cover gasket comes in the fel-pro timing cover set (the set is TCS 45951, the gasket is felpro 96082E ). It's not a composit or paper gasket, it has a steel core with a blue ribbed rubber suface coating. It looks like a really nice gasket.
Has anyone used this yet? Did you use any sealer (what kind) around the water pump orifices?

Thanks
Bob

I used one on my new engine, used the torque specs in my haynes book and its been leak free for about 8k mi. It was very nice to work with. Im pretty sure I didnt use anything but a bit of rtv on the bolts.:)

That is part of the Felpro Perma-torque line of gaskets. They have that kind of design for thermostat gaskets even, though not for our application :-(.

I've used it on my car, no leaks. I appreciated the design and it even withstood me having to pull the timing cover after being put on once when I found I put the stupid timing cover seal in backwards. (yeah, I'm a goof)
