electric waterpump

I don't know how good or bad a Morna V-6 pump.

He is the only one that at this time is selling an
electric water pump that is suspose to fit are cars.

I have made different style's of electric waterpumps
to use for myself over the past 5 years. None are
close to the design Morna has built. His is cheaper
to buy than I can buy the electric water pump,
aluminum ,consumable tooling, machine work for the parts.

I have never dyno tested for the gain in RWHP that my
electric water pumps give ,if any. By my seat of the pants
dyno. The motor turns on faster, reaching its peak
power level much faster. I would guess a RWHP gain of
around 10 to 14 RWHP.This is with the deletion of the
waterpump pulley style. I beleive the gain comes from
not needing to drive the impellor and the deleting of
the center pulley. I use Same type electric style pump
as Moran use's, but different style backing plate, a
MOROSO electric water pump use with both style's.
This is the best set-up for racing, because of deleting
the water pump pulley. Gives best power.

If you use the 4.6 mod-motor meizer water pump. It
has a center mount ideler pulley. With this set up,
and the most expensive to build, You Will not gain
nearly as much RWHP. maybe 7 RWHP

My point is, do not expect huge gains in power after
installing or building a electric water pump for your
SC/XR7. I look at this type mod to produce more
room around the front of engine, inableing me to delete
other brackets and parts for Wt. reduction. To
help make my car easier to work on. To make my
car look better, better gas milage, and Then horse
power gains come last on my list..

Good luck on you mod hunt ,Randy

I saw a drop of .143 seconds in average corrected E.T.'s when I installed my Meziere pump on my DOHC. It was noticable in the SOTP meter, but I didn't do a before/after dyno comparison.
