Tire size

I have P225-60 16 on my car. I have a chance to get two -225-55-16 tires cheep. Are the 55 wider or thinner? I think they are wider so I would put them on the back of the car, HELP HELP:confused: Thank`s PETEp

The 55's will be a little wider and a little shorter than the 60's. They should work just fine
