So welcome to my bad f-ing day.

Sunday night, round 5pm... get a call from mom.
mom: Kodiak (My brother's 150lb rottie above) got out tonight, took off after a deer and won't come back. Jeff can't catch him. Say your prayers.
me: does he have a collar on or any ID?
mom: no.
me: ~~~~. okay well let me know when you guys figure something out.
*click*

Now, fast forward to around 6am, my brother has been tracking/chasing the dog for about 12 hours straight now on muddy ~~~ creeks/forest/fields. He finds a deer carcass.

6:30... I wake up, get in the shower. Get out, start getting dressed for work. Decide to call mom and see about the dog.

me: any news on the dog?
mom: yes and it isn't good.
me: ~~~~.
mom: Jeff was going to wal mart to get some better boots... Kodiak ran out and Jeff hit him.
me: oooh ~~~~. Is he alright?
mom: we don't know, he ran off into the forest and we couldn't get him.
me: SHIAT! Okay I'm on my way... (thinking the dog is bleeding in the forest and will need to be carried into a truck by me and my bro, then raced to the vet.)

Call into work, change to outdoor clothes and hit the road to Cameron. I'm really upset about the dog, this is my bro's best friend after me. Awesome dog, been part of the family for years... basically the only bright spot for my bro now too. So I'm going pretty quick, not paying attention, just trying to get up there... BAM.

91 in a 70. Couldn't complain much, I wasn't paying attention to my speed at all. Guilty as charged. Got pulled over about a mile from my exit. :( He was pretty funny though, he's like you gotta at least keep it around 80! :)

Anyway, get up there, finally get the dog (pissed off, tired, and hurt) into the house, call to make a vet appointment. Gonna be in late... (let him rest, he bites me etc:mad:)... so we load him up and *click*. Marquis is dead. My mom left the spotlight on in the car, drained the battery. Damn. Jump the car, make it a few blocks away with me following in the truck... dead again. I have to hang my ~~~ out in the highway to get the right angle on the marquis for the jumper cables to connect. Finally get it going and to the vets. The car dies on the way in and my bro coasts it to the parking spot. Super.

Dog gets checked out, bruised and banged up pelvis. Doesn't look like any internal bleeding but we have to watch him for a while and bring him back if he is acting weird. He gets some pain pills too. In the mean time I am working on the car, cleaning the terminals and putting it all back together. Didn't need a jump, just bad terminals (told brother a billion times to clean em:mad:)

Get an oil change, score some Casey's pizza, roll home to Indep, change clothes again, get to work, here I am... 3 hours late on the week to make up. Good morning to me. God I love mondays.

How was your guys' morning? :p

Nothing quite like that... I got up at 415, jumped in the shower and was at work a bit after 5. Worked til about 11, put some gas in the 'Bird before I came home.. grabbed lunch and here I am. Lounging in the chair thinking about a nap cuz getting up at 415 really blows.

Glad to hear everyone is OK.. atleast for the most part.

Woke up, drove to work (1 hour each way), parked, was about to get out when I realized that I had left my work laptop on the kitchen table at home. Drove home, got the computer, drove back to work....2 hours later than what I expected to be here...I agree....HATE mondays.

I hope the dog is ok.

Update:

Dog is doing well, just whimpering a lot when he's adjusting things while lying down. Pretty wussy for a Rottie IMO. We're not letting him do stairs or anything till he's back together 100%. With any luck, maybe this will calm him down a bit! :D

Speeding ticket is $208, and 3 points. Scratch that... $100 and no points! LOVE it that one of my best friends is a lawyer now! :p

Nope, not a cent. I'll buy him dinner and call it even.

Oh, I'm also building a house for him at cost some day. :D

Thats pretty standard operating for me when I get a ticket. Just go to the clerk and tell em you don't want any points. They usually double the fine, leave the "fees" alone, and call it a "non moving violation". Costs more upfront, but keeps the insurance down.
