I have a strange problem that seems to have started about 2 weeks ago. I arrived home late and as I got out of my truck I could see a red light in my car. It was comming from the LED on chip(yes I have not gotten around to putting the kick pannel on yet). I never remember it staying on before, but it was 1am and I figured I would check it out the next day. Well the next day brought ice, snow, -5 degree temps and -25 wind chills for the next several days. Skip to this past Sat. I planned on fixing the pesky oil leak in my MPX, so I figure I would pull it in the garage and fire up the heater. Wrong. The battery was dead and I mean totaly dead. I pull out the charger and hook it up and set it to 35amp for about an hour. I then cranked it and it would barley spin over. So I set the charger to the 200amp engine start mode and gave it a shot. It cranked great, but would not start. It would not even sputter. A buddy stopped buy and helped me shove it the the garage. Well this is what I have.
The battery was frozen SOLID I thawed it and charged it and it seems OK
Spark on all cyl. is good
35-40psi fuel pressure according to the guage on the fuel rail
Plugs are new autolite 103s and are dry after cranking the motor.
NOID light in a injector connector does NOT blink.
With key OFF the common red wire in the injector connector still has 1.28 volts This wire appears to also run to the the fuel pump relay and it just so happens that the pump seems to prime twice as long as usuial when I turn on the key. The pump kinda sound different too.
Is the light on the SCT chip supposed to be on even if the car is off and parked?
Could the frozen battery or me jump starting it have toasted the EEC?
What else shoud I check that may cause the injectors to be dead.
This is just strange. It was just running a few days ago when I moved it from its winter home(in the backyard) to the driveway.
