Motor Mounts

How hard is it to do motor mounts in a 93 5spd SC? I broke the left side running through the gears. It twisted so hard that the belt came up and sliced the lower radiator hose. Also who or where makes the best motor mounts? I see that some were talking about a solid rubber mount.

The stock mounts are the best for vibration control but also expensive. A cheaper replacement could be had from most parts stores. Advance Auto Parts has a picture catalog and you may have to match it up as they don't always list all the cars the mounts fit.
After you install the new mount look for a place to mount a chain or steel bracket from the engine to the frame. Just make sure there is about 1/4 to 3/8 inch of available slack to allow for some engine movement or you will feel engine vibration.

Autozone has a solid mount available in the Anchor brand.A lot better than the OE oil filled mount it will last longer.A chain or a steel cable aint a bad idea if you plan on thrashing on it.

Do a quick search on "motor mounts". There are lots of threads with good information about how to go about changing these mounts. Seems like everyone here has had to do this job; lots of good tips out there...
