I just hope the chip gets back before then. If not, I'll just have to beat you with good ol' fashioned skill. :p (And Eibachs, KYB's, FAT sway bars, big ~~~ tires, PBR's, and front AND rear shock tower braces)
thunderbird96
02-29-2008, 06:30 PM
well i have a rear shocktower brace/eibachs and tokicos and bigger sway bars at both ends and more power.
traveler
02-29-2008, 06:33 PM
Unless you have Addco bars, your's are the same size as mine. I have 89 SC bars front and rear.
I had forgotten that you finally went with Eibachs. I'll be anxious to give it a try.
Melon
02-29-2008, 06:40 PM
Don't make me come down and attempt to beat both of ya :p I may not have done it, but the car certainly has :D
OK.. so I don't have the time off from work :p

and what model ? and speed rating.

03-03-2008, 10:14 AM
I will only sell all 4. They're BF Goodrich Comp T/A ZR1's with lless than 15,000 miles on them. Very very good tread depth left. This used to be be one of BFG's best tires so I imagine they're Z rated. Not like your car can come close to that.

Thunder95

140 isnt Z rated. Z rated = 186.
Sorry, won't split them up. $250 is as low as I'll go, $500 for the set with wheels.

I also don't know when my chip will be back. But there will be surprises. ;)

What did you hear from Lonnie?
traveler
03-05-2008, 04:06 PM
He said he'd do a tweak for a great price. But I've decided to go with the GT MAF. With the change to the GT MAF he may charge the standard price for a re-tune, I haven't heard back from him about any differences between the Lightning MAF and the GT. But I've read enough about the two that, since I have both, I'll go with the GT.

Don't know if you saw my post on TCCoA, but it looks like you were running lean at the places where you said it was pinging.

03-05-2008, 04:35 PM
Yea, I saw that. With any luck Lonnie will pick up on that too and correct it. Who knows, maybe the GT MAF will help in that respect. But if I want any of this to happen, I'd better get it sent off to him!

Got this reply:
The GT MAF will be a much better choice for your vehicle. You’ll have better fuel control and throttle response because the meter is calibrated for your typical air flow. Where as the LMAFs are calibrated for a much higher rate than you vehicle will produce.
and this:
I’ll let you know when it shows up. Going with the GT MAF will totally change anything with fuel that you data logged with the LMAF. So you will have to email a new set of logs afterwards
So we'll have to go back to the Dyno after I get the Chip and the GT MAF installed.

Micheal, any word on the 3.27 TL?
-Joel

Unfortunately, budget constraints have caused me to wait till May to get the 3.55 built. So it will be May before I get the 3.27's taken out and the 3.55's put in.

Ok, I'm making reservations at Holiday Inn. I still have some Priority Club Points left from when I was traveling a lot. Might as well use em.
Are we meeting at Matts house Sat. Morning? I seem to remember reading that suggestion by Jason, but didn't hear anything from Matt on the idea.
By the way, if anyone is undecided on coming based on a place to stay or not, I can share the room. Won't cost any more points with one or two people.

Well, the few, the strong showed up and raced.
Matt and I drove up from Wichita; Jason, and his friends (sorry, I'm terrible with names) met us there. Jason didn't race, claimed noises from under the car. No one raced but me! It was cold, it was wet, but had a great time! The new girlfriend came along with her daughter, and they had a good time. Jenny even rode along on one run, and it was my best one of the day.
Anyway, here are the vids.

I don't think jason was joking about his noise as he's called me about 6 times about it.

LOL I was thinking that it would be slick (one guy in a 95 Corvette lost it and hit a light pole!). But the tires I've got are incredible in the rain. I actually would have preferred it being a little "looser". It was understeering in the tight corners. I had to use the gas to bring the rear end around, and even then it just didn't want to slide. I'm sure if I had really hit it (the gas) hard the rear would have come around big time but I didnt want that either. (I think thats what the Corvette driver did). Taller gears would have made it easier to run the course.

I'm usually 50/50 when trying to kick the back end around to sharpen a turn....
Last 4th of July, I went out with the KCSR guys, and we were turning around on a gravel road with ditches on the sides.... The honda infront of me was able to do a 180 in place (Still don't understand how he did it), so I tried. Ended up in the ditch, and had to have 2 fat kids sit on my trunk so I could pull myself out.
