Exhaust: Y pipe

Okay guys, so I'm about to install a new exhaust system on the car.
Heres the plan:
- 2 1/4" pipe to high flow cats
- into Magnaflow resonator (dual in/single out)
- 3 in. pipe off the resonator
- split into dual 2 1/4"
- into dynomax mufflers

Question: Should I go ahead and order one of Flowmasters Y Pipe Collectors to save on the cost of having the shop weld one together? they are online about $40? Any help appreciated

I just got the same Magnaflow resonator from Bill at SCP today. It is 2.5" to 3" out.
Wondering why you were going with 2.25"?
 
would there be a big benefit to splitting into dual 2.5", ive already got 2 1/4" inlet mufflers, but i suppose i could return them... going w/ 2 1/4" cuz this will be the only modification to this car.
