We just got done with the weekend project today. Since saturday we have replaced all the intake manifold gaskets, rebuilt the fuel rail using the instructions on mn12 performance, replaced the injector o rings, replaced the motor mounts. Now we get it all back together and after filling, drilling, tapping, and installing helicoils for the water outlet we test drove it. went about a quarter mile to the gas station put gas in it and went to start it up and didn't want to start for several minutes. Then when it did it was missing under acceleration, the whole car jerks like a bucking bronco when you mash it down. when you drive normal there is a slight miss. The check engine light came on and spit out two codes....
Code 171
fuel system @ adaptive limits- heated oxygen sensor 1 unable to switch bank 1
172 Lack of heated oxgen sensor switches indicates lean bank 1
Now both oxgen sensors are almost brand freakin new, the one was replaced in the fall the other was about a month ago
The drivers side is bank 1 right? or is it the pass side?
I am stressed and pissed after all that grueling work the thing just cant be right.
Oh and when i bought the car back in 2001 the guy had the receipt for the headgaskets that were replaced about 3k miles before i bought it and it was for $1200. When we had pulled off the intake the seals that run along the top of the block in the front and back were nothing other than black rtv sealant, quality job for 1200 bucks, lol
