According to an industry leader that I have been in touch with, Lamborghini has requested that all companies that are making replicas of the Lamborghini cars cease and desist in their production of said replicas.

Well no more kit car lambo's........

I think that someone started a "Save the Fiero" organization....

Personally I'd rather have an 89 V-6 Fiero anyway.

There's a guy down here in Chattanooga who has a Gallardo or Murcielago or something (I can't tell them apart) and every Saturday he parks it way out in the middle of nowhere in the parking lot at Hamilton Place mall just waiting for people to come and take pictures with the car. I am not making this up. I can only hope my life is someday as cool as his.

Get that Fiero and you would be as cool as that guy. Even more cool.

Oh, I'd like to think that buying a $2000 car to race is cooler than buying a $400,000 car in the hopes that someone will talk to you and tell you how cool your car is.

It would be rarer than a Lambo ... 88 was the last year for Fieros. ;):D

That was the year they finally got the revised suspension, and were actually decent handling cars.

cheers

I was hoping that the kits would be around for a little while longer. I had plans to do a Lamborghini Diablo SV kit with the Ford GT Transaxle and the BMW V-12 engine.

Would have cost me close to $50K, but it would have been just as good of a screamer as the $250K TRUE Italian.

I knew they redesigned the car in 88 but thought they continued it through 89. My bad.

Heck I do that with all my car just so noone hits it. Miraculously you always find a cart with 5 feet of your vehicle

Just remember this...it's been proven that carts in the wind can reach speeds of 30MPH...

Wife and I have to go out that way Saturday(God I hate that mall on a weekend), might have to look him up and ask how it feels to own a $110K+ car that would get spanked by some of the Generals finest tupperware... :D

I'm just curious as to why they have only asked for a halt on the Diablo line and not on ALL of the kits. Aparently replica manufacturers are still allowed to make the Countach kits, just not the Diablo's.
