There has been a lot of talk lately about numerous high powered SCs, XR7s and other MN12s that are already running or being built now. Instead of bench racing those cars on the boards and bickering about dyno charts and video proof, I challenge you guys to bring these supposed monsters to the Dayton spring meet and show everyone what you've really got.

If you aren't wanting to race, then at least put it on the dyno and let everyone see how much power you are really making. Doesn't matter if it's a 3.8 based motor with twin screw supercharger or an 800 CID normally aspirated big block. Doesn't matter if it's a Ford or a Toyota motor under the hood, so long as it's in an MN12 chassis.

Why wait until September to bring it to the Shootout ? Bring it to Dayton, OH the first weekend in May and lets see who's car can walk the walk as good as they can talk the talk. If you break it, you'll still have plenty of time to fix it before the Shootout.

I'll be bringing my turbo car, Chris Lazzo will have his Procharged 331 SC, Chris Kegan should be there with his supercharged modular Tbird. I'd really like to see some of the other guys like Mike Siska, Bruce (392bird), Pro Street Rich, Jim D., Mike Tuck, Ira, Mike Irving, John Force, Brian Oatway, Chris Wise, Todd Jelle, Rod, Casey, Tony Serno, Kurt K., Micah, Ken Wagner, George Davenport, Kevin Leitem, John Shelton, Ricardo, Damon, FKR, Anthony Arnold, Dave Dalke, Mark K., Mike Puckett, Dan Sly, Charles Brown, Chris V., ect...ect...bring their cars out to play. Let's see who's really got the baddest v6 and v8 MN12s in the country.

If you don't have a car that can compete with these guys, just bring what you have to see what it's got, to see what it could be or just be there to witness the carnage.

Here's the info on when and where to BRING IT

David

Good post here! I would love to bring the Silver Bullet the first ever 9 second SC to this event. We have gone quicker and faster my team said not to post it up until someone beats my 9.989et record. I would like to come run back to back mid 9's and meet all you fine people I have never met before. If I can find a sponsor or backer to help with the cost bringing my team and car there that would be so special just to do this event. Please if any of you have interested sponsors to help us out e-mail me at j.demmitt@att.net

David this thread gas gottin my intrest its about time to see a meet for all to go to and to see the new cars talk in person dinner and race sounds so neat. Thank you for posting all the info about this event its much appreciated. We will see what we can do twist our speed shop owner's arm to help us out for this event to get us there to see you guy's and Gal's :-)

Call me out all you like, but since the event is only 5 days before the due date of child number 2, there's no way I'll make it if the child hasn't been born yet. And if the child is already here, it's not likely I could make it either, but it "might" be possible.

See what you got started DAVE!!!!!!!!! She did run a 12.77 at the last midnight mayhem of the year and the car still needs a tweaking of the tune. Me on the other hand popped a head gasket while busting a mustangs a$$.... A wire came off of the alky injection and well it didnt like not having it when I was WOT..... All of that is being moved to the interior of the car and hard wired in and I will run the VP from now on instead of pump gas...... I am doing a couple other things to the engine while being down this time and it should be ready for the May meet. I have to wait until the basketball season is over before I can really get at it. Coaching is taking a huge amount of time right now.....

Oh, and the AuxBox is going in this time also......

If Ohio is too far away, consider the Club Clash at TriState Raceway in Iowa. It looks like it will also be in May (it will be announced in the Iowa forums). There is no reason for those who like to 'talk' about how fast they are, not to make one of these events.

Unfortunately I predict more excuses by some people who have an unending supply.

Maybe I was stretching the truth a little with that last post. (Ira, you gonna let that big lug talk to me like that??? Teach him how to treat a lady would ya!!) In truth he was eating a mustangs butt and liking it a lot until he heard a strange little noise. I was watching his run from the starting line (getting ready to bust into the 12's :) ), wondering what could have happened but anyone who knows his car, knows anything is possible with it. Never did I image he had blown a head gasket. Anyhoo, winter is pretty much baskbetball around here until March. This year Anthony's girls basketball team have done extremely well (28-1 regular season) and are heading into District playoffs this coming week. I am hoping that their season will end March 16th at the State Championship game, shortly thereafter he'll be wrenching on the Silver B*tch, I'm sure. See you all there in May.

With the 526ci Boss Hemi its ran the best of 6.212et at 235.39mph thats with a soft clutch setup. It has the tripple disc funny car style clutch with trick titanium clutch can 4 speed lenco. Its has the Strange engineering full floater funny car rear end. If we run the outlaw Pro Mod with the bigger Boss Hemi it will run in the 5's right now its setup for West Coast Pro Mod. The car is light we have to add weight to stay within WCPMA rules. I would like to run the new PM Nitro Coupe class as well

And I am with Kurt, there was no way that was Sweet Tea!!! Tasted like a$$ and even a non-partial Canadian said it was horrible. There is nothing like it in a 50's style blown doorslamer our close friend Wayne Torkelson Sr. started the early Pro Mod deal along with Bob Bunker Sr. in the early 80's. Now its grown into low 6 second doorslamers and formed West Coast Pro Mod. I started out in brackets than got my NHRA license in advanced ET than TA/FC and up-graded to AA/FC. I know its differaint than just racing your Sc at a shootout but if any of you are given the chance to move up do so. If anything the spring meet should be about coming to together to share your passion for the big body MN12 not a "I'm faster then you" meet. David, right now there are no plans on taking the monster V6 out to play before your meet. The car is tuned and ready to go right now. The weather around here is not good for driving a normal S.C. much less this car. The thing is happy just sitting where it is now..
Now as far as the big blocks go, they too are race ready, or they should be. I haven't fired up either one of them for a few months now. So as far as I can see now, there should be nothing standing in the way of the trip....Rich

Man I wish I could go to this, not to "bring it" but just to meet a bunch of you guys. Not only is it WAY far away, but my poor car is still needing my TLC to be road worthy.
It sucks that almost all the SC owners are so far away from me, geographic isolation I guess. Sheesh I am like 200 miles from the nearest Walmart!
Even if my superchicken was road worthy, its WAY too far for a weekend jaunt.
Make sure someone is there with a digicam!

Matt, Im even debating on going, if I can arrange time with Dave to get the snow kit installed and tuned, as well as break in my new clutch first, Ill be looking to also run 12's.

I think no matter what you should show up Bruce, you know we are going to have a great time:) Besides I want you and Smitty to watch me be the first guy in SS to break into the 12's.....:D

Its a 1995 5spd....and here are some pics....it needs painted pretty bad. Sorry for the dust.

So far this is what has been done:

Tranny overhauled with a CF dual friction clutch (went back to the early style flywheel.)
Heads ported by myself with stainless valves
Roller rockers
Mild cam
65# injectors
FI fuel pump
aluminum radiator
Custom FMIC
75mm MAF
75MM TB
3.27 Gears (from an auto car)

That is pretty much the short list off the top of my head. I'll post more when I actually get it to start.

I rented a u-haul car trailer for the shootout last year. I had no problems with them letting me rent it, and telling them I was putting a 89 sc on it. They are concerned about the vehicle you are towing it with. Give them a call, let them know what you will be towing your car with, that is whats important, no ford rangers towing an SC, sorry!

I towed with a 2007 extended cab Chevy Silverado last year, with no issues what so ever.

The car fits fine without any problems but they don't rent to you until you prove that the vehicle you are using to tow is capable of safely towing trailer and car. No little pickups or explorers. Also if your car is lowered you may have a problem opening the door to get out. I usually have to take the side panel off to be able to open my door when loaded on the trailer. Some places are pretty anal about what vehicle you can use to tow there trailer with.

I'm seriously thinking about coming, not quite sure I can get time off. Also don't know if the car I want to bring will be ready. Still have a couple of bugs to iron out with my blue one but that should be taken care of this week. I can't wait to run this year. Last years shootout was too much fun been buggin ever since. I understand there will be some fast cars coming out of the woodwork this year also, so this should be real interesting.

Not really. Everything was planned to be changed over long before Ira's car. Dave just didn't have the time to swap everything out. After the shootout was the only convenient time to do it already being in Ohio I didn't have to make a special trip. Everything sat on the shelf for almost two years.

10.5s is too quick for me to keep up in the 91....I'm planning to pull the nitrous bottle and slow it down a little this year.

You're all MONSTERS!! You, Kevin, Sisca..... tough acts to follow. Now Chris is solidly in the 11's and looking for more as is 1MNTCAT. And there are a host of cars staring intently at those 11's. Brian is changing transmissions, Payton is trying to drop his 11 second drive train into a new shell, Mike is smiling from ear to ear but that's all we know right now, and who knows what else is going on out there. In fact there may even be a couple of faster cars out there that we haven't even seen yet. Time will tell.

On top of all that Ken keeps making his car prettier, the arguments over who will take the honours in each class has already begun and the 13 and 14 second cars keep getting more exciting to watch each year!

Should be a great season and if we can keep them all together until Sept what a great Shoot Out this could shape up to be.

So you're right David. No more bench racing on this site. It's time.

Ira what clutch are you planning on using once it all back together?

BTW I am only looking for Garys record this year. If you go auto that just gives me less competition. One of our NEs SCers fell into the auto trap so that means better chances for me :p Not sure what Mike is up to. ;) But his competitive attitude seems to only help him go faster. He just has to pick 1 car and make it go fast when you have multiple cars things get put aside and never get finished. Red or Blue ;) What will it be Mike.

Also is Dave tuning at this meet, if so that might be a good excuse to take out my credit card.

Well, there's a brand new CF DF in there now and I have no plans to replace it anytime soon (famous last words). I'm don't even know what Gary's record is, but I don't care about any numbers or records. My current configuration is making 0 rwhp and 0 rwt, so right now I'll settle for a running car and a few decent passes at the track.

Talk to me again in Sept maybe when the competition at the Shoot Out makes us all a little crazy. Until then I just want to drive it!!

I don't know what Dave's schedule is. I would guess he will be there with computer in tow, but I don't know what his plans are. I'm not planning on having have him tune my car at the event though.

Chris

Chris,

I'd like to leave early enough to get to Dayton by noon or earlier, so we will have plenty of time at the dyno. Around 6:30 or 7:00 AM is what I was thinking.

DavidDon't forget about the hour that you lose due to changing time zones.

Wish I could be there to see all of the cars. Will definetly try to make the fall one. It sounds like a blast.Maybe if I bring my little one my wife will be ok.Sounds like a plan, plus my 3 1/2 likes pinks and she is a girl. She wants a purple race car. Maybe one day.
