My 94 SC speedo indicates OK but the odo won't move. Stopped at 109,121. Pulled it out and gave it a visiual inspection. Nothing appeared loose or jammed. And of course there is a piece of plastic right next to the odo motor that prevents removal or repair. Re-installed the speedo and drove it. Intiallly tried to move about .2 miles but then stopped. Noticed a large capacitor next to the odo motor. Suspect I need to replace it to give the odo motor a kick to start running. After 14 years, I suspect the cap is tired.

Anyone one else had this problem, and if so, how did you fix it other then get another speedo?

It is a common problem. You need to replace the gear in the speedo unit. It drives the odometer but not the speedometer. You can find more in this thread over at TCCoA (http://forums.tccoa.com/showpost.php?p=903056&postcount=3).
