For your 300 hp N/A V8 car - are you using a 5.0 or a 4.6? Cuz I don't think the M5R2 (SC 5spd) will bolt up to a 4.6. I'm surprised you didn't post anything about suspension or anything like that :p

Hehe, suspension depends on what you want to do with the car :)

Same bolt pattern as far as I know. Don't people do 5-speed converstions and auto conversions on the SCs all the time?

i went from 3.8 to 5.8, then AOD to M5R2, so a=b and b=c so a must equal c, right? i flunked algebra, lol. yeah it's all interchangeable. i hope to have a 300 horse N/A v8 minus the 5 speed sometime soon. :)

Unless some work has been done to that V8, I don't see it being 300 HP. My DOHC makes 230 RWHP.. and I didn't flunk algebra so I know that 230 doesn't equal 300 :p haha

Hey, I made the topic, and don't care if it gets off the tracks. The DOHCs put out between 230 and 255 to the wheels depending on drivetrain and dyno setup.

Im on my way to the 300+ engine NA. It will piss off a TON of people though but I have my reasons. It will probably be an auto though....

And doing some N2O count as a power adder and then the motor won't be N/A? :D I think 300 HP N/A can be had - just depends on which motor you start with and which mods you choose to do. But then again, I don't know V8's THAT well haha

If NOS makes it not N/A, then n/m... i was planning a 150 shot once for the dyno. :) then a 75 or so for the track. Prolly wouldnt get used much... plus i gotta install it, lol. FIRST I GOTTA GET THAT DAMN CAR... i've got the money now, schedule is not cooperating.... grr.

I've been thinking about this a lot. What I'd LIKE to see done with the GT (note, LIKE to see, budget constraints will likely prevent them)

NA 4.6 NPI block
PI heads - aftermarket Cams (undecided, need more research)
Bullit intake/TB
Marauder TC
Built 4R70W
Carbon Fiber driveshaft
3.73 T-Loc w/aluminum Mark VIII case
Mark VIII LCA

Fuel pump, injector upgrades as needed.

SC seats (leather)
Wings West body kit
Cobra R hood
Fresh paint
And yes the GT theme would stay (badges, stripes, etc.)

Michael, check out HiTech's stage 2 na cams (I think they were #2040?).

Either those or crower stage 2s. Those are my favorite two.

What i'd like to do to that dohc is stupid expensive, so it'll prolly never happen, but regardless...

To keep on topic, what I would like to do - and very well could at some point - keep the DOHC motor, get one that's freshly rebuilt (if needed) but the motor would probably be fairly stock since aftermarket parts are probably crazy expensive. If not, I'd get a decent set of heads, mild cams, Kooks headers, and a Vortech making 5-6 psi.

A local guy (Thomas A) dyno'ed at almost 400 RWHP with a Vortech making 6psi I believe. And the only mods are the blower - obviously - and Cobra intake, and supporting fuel mods. To the best of my knowledge anyway :D

Not sure if I'd use Kooks headers, or what brand.. I would try for some brand (since I'd have the money) but for a budget build, I'd probably just keep the stock manifolds - maybe port 'em out if I could get to them easy.
