could it possibly help to add a spacer on the raised SC top to enhance flow even more and get some more gains?

I really don't see how it would help. The whole idea of "raising" the top is just done to get more material in the neck area so it can be enlarged for better flow. It was originally squashed down by Ford to gain a little clearance under the hood.

if the raised top was somehow curved on top instead of a 90 degree angle like the stock downtube into the driver's side cat, i bet it would make a positive difference in flow (easier on the supercharger). try placing an electric fan blowing against the wall and you will notice the rpm's go down slightly because of backpressure (adding load), the same things happening with the SC top. the supercharger will be easier to turn freeing up some power if the top was progressively curved.

the big question here is would it fit under the hood-

what about fabricating a curved top?

the raised top is an abrupt 90 deg. bend just like the driver side down tube into the cat.

what if the raised top could be redesigned to have a progressive curve on top rather than a 90 deg. angle for SC outlet flow-
does anyone have an opinion about whether this would yield any gains?

You are talking about going straight up, as in pointing to the moon? Hood clearance comes to mind as a issue. You can’t change where the top exits too much, remember you still have to get it to hook up to the IC tubes. Unless you do something like make new tubes. Hell while you are at it go ahead and do a front mount IC.
