Go buy one. I love mine. Favorite tool ever. I'm obsessive compulsive, so it gives me the opportunity to find all of the gay noises that go about my car.
Listened to my trans today... The tailshaft makes a strange noise. I assume its due to the forced lube mod. Will check.
The drivers side bank sounds hideous too... The psgr side is smooth, but the drivers side makes the guillatine noise.

Yeah, I could use one right now. Got a noise that's either coming from the water pump or supercharger. It doesn't sound good that's for sure.

I use a harmonics tester much more accurate IMO. Just have to know the pulley size and or bearing size and it will tell you what the range of sound should be that is for moving part noise.

Hey Ryan, bring one Sun to KCIR. I'll check the sound under the hood. I suspect the supercharger.
Thanks, Danny

Ryan, changed the other 2 pulleys out and still the same sound. It's something else. Jackshaft pulley? I figure it's something around that tensioner from what we heard.
Also changed back to the SC rims. Took the ones from the black car. They're a little rough, may paint them black. Shiny or semigloss?

Awwwwwww :( :( :(
Couldn't find anything close enough to the harmonic balancer to listen to, so that could be what's wrong
Now that I think about it, I should have listened to the heads while I was at it.....

Well, at least it's not the SC. There was alot we could have done but, we weren't there for that. Anyway the pulleys needed changing. (+225K mi)
Took a closer look at my suspension while it was up. Yeah, I need pretty much everything. Also have the same body mount as Jason's rusted out on one side.

OK, as I was doing the water pump I checked the jackshaft and it looks like it's going bad. Has a little to much up/down play in it. Looks like you were right in the area of the noise Ryan but, just couldn't get close enough to that bearing. I'll know for sure once the WP is done.

:( Thats a lot of pullies all going out.... Are the tensioners putting too much stress on them or something??

Not sure if there are bearings with the pullies (maybe with a few, not really sure) but the last time I did some engine work on they 91, a lot of the pullies were changed - water pump, jackshaft, crank, harmonic balancer, tensioner. I think the only one that didn't change was the alternator. But with enough miles on them - it wouldn't surprise me that much.

Andy is correct "with enough miles....."
The jackshaft has a static bearing sealed up on the bracket. The bracket holds the AC compressor, jackshaft, DIS module and 2 idlers.

Yeah, it's the jackshaft. Some more work for me.
