I am about to lose my mind. I have a 97 thunderbird 4.6 v8 that when I bought it tops out at 86 mph. I have taken it to multiple mechanics and even had Ford look at it. I cannot seem to get the same answer. The latest answer is that because I have bigger tires the spedometer thinks it is going 104 mph. I was also told that the top speed is 86mph. I am trying not to have to Dino the car but it looks like this is the last straw. If anyone can help me I would appreciate it.

You can buy a chip for it to reset the governor and recalibrate the speedo.

Dalke is SCU. SuperCoupesUnlimited
SCP is SupercoupePerformance
Everyone is entitled to make money. And Bill Evanoff from SCP will try to mach pricing if you find it somewhere else cheaper. But for me the process is a hassle and I rather find the best price right away and have it shipped right away, no feelings are hurt and I can move on to other parts.
