I'd love a trip like that, if funding and scheduling allow.

Let's slow down a bit. I think it's a great idea but it seems like we already have a lot going on. Tanya and I usually hit the lake once a year so it is possible it could work out.
The major events I plan to attend are the Dayton meet (May 2nd), WSC (World Street Challenge in St. Louis on May 15) and the Shootout. I would like to attend Brad's meet but I'm not sure if I can fit that in (staying a night in a motel while there).

it's close and cheap
Close and cheap for those who live in mom and dad's house and don't have alot of bills. Maybe not so cheap for those people in the real world. I know I'm not one of them - but think about them too. Not everyone may have the money to spend on a weekend trip. Fuel cost, food cost (even if it's potluck) jetski rental, motel, other misc things along the way... it adds up quick. Especially with gas being $3.00+ pretty much every where.

I never said whether I'd go or not. I've got other events planned for this year as well and won't make it down. I'm heading to Minneapolis for Car Craft Summer Nationals (great time btw)
And ever thought about looking for a better job? Can't tell me there isn't anything down there - KC is a big city with lots of opportunites.

I can try and make it, but the Salina trip is going to use a LOT of my hotel, food funds. I don't know what July will look like yet.
