Does anyone know who used to own this car? Platnum '94 5 speed with a red interior. it was serviced in Scotia NY at Dennis Francis auto. I am the current owner and wanted to know what mods are done that are not apparent. I know there is alot of money in the motor. I just don't know if it stops at bolt on's or if there is a chip, injectors, cam or what not. Any help would be great. http://www.sccoa.com/forums/showthread.php?t=85640

Seems to me just bolt ons

Di dyou have the motor redone?

Are the injectors blue?..Chances are if they still are blue...Not much

I know that the kid i bought it from did nothing to it except beat it for 3k miles. However it has a chrome raised top, 73mm maf, 75mm tb, and a serious clutch. I also know that the motor was torn down before i got into it because the heads on it were wrong. what i dont know is if it is chipped, and what it has for a fuel pump or a cam. As for the injectors they are all black. I couldn't find a manufatcurer name on them or a size. I don't know what that means. Any ideas??

If they are black they should have a thin colored ring (green red...)on them..Or they could be 50's if all black.

To see if its chipped pull the computer you will see it attached..Passenger side kick panel.

Lastly check the sample tube color on your MAF>.That will be a good indication of possible injector size

Heads ported?

Pictures of pistons?

If you pulled cam out and its aftermarket or reground it will have numbers scribed in it.

Chances are if the heads arent ported you dont have much going on but boltons

Thanks for the info. I think the injectors had red O rings on them but the rest was black i belive. When i got the car it had standard 3.8 heads on it, http://www.cardomain.com/member_pages/show_image.pl?image=http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/4/web/2644000-2644999/2644714_6_full.jpgnot S/C so i bought some used ones and ported them myself. i know it has the aftermarket tb and maf and 10% pulleys. someone put alot of money in that car. I will check the PCM for the chip when I get it out of storage. I looked at the pistons and cylender walls and they looked like new ( almost no wear or scratches ) I don't think I am gonna tear it down to check the cam though. too much work for no real benefit. Next set of head gaskets i will just change it out. I have some pics on my car domain page. check it out http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2644714

If you click on the username of OperationBob and choose "View Public Profile", you can see his IM screen name. Don't know if you use AOL Instant Messenger or not, but that can be a good way to get in touch with people.

red rings are most likely 30's. I;d say it was a bolton car ..The bottem end may however be a non SC motor..Perhaps whoever owned the car and originally blew the motor may have replaced it with a standard 3.8 bottom end.

Unsure ow to check for that though..There may be some castin #'s

If I pulled the injectors how could i tell what size they are? And thanks for the idea about the casting number. I will see if i can check the serial # on the block. That would really stink!! But i guess thats what you get sometime. It still runs good and goes like a bass so i could just run it till it goes and start over but i would like to know what i am looking at. anyway i couldn't find any chart or pics to identify what injectors are what. I will buy new injector if i have to but if they are #42 then i will just leave them. I apperciate all your help. You are great thanks.

Can you get a look at the body of the injectors? Ford / Bosch style look different from Lucas / Motronic style. Lucas is stubbier and more rounded.

I took a look at the injectors today. they were all black body, short fat body, had a hexagonal shape on the top of the body about 1 1/4 or so and a small blue snap ring just under the electrical connector. they don't look like the stock ones i have seen. any ideas anyone??

Don't hold your breath. I wanted this car for 10 years, I am not gonna let it go that easy. I am just trying to figure out where I need to invest next. But I am glad you like it. I love the car. I don't know if I need to buy new injectors, a chip, fuel pump or if I am ok now?

Blue may be 36lb injectors which are stock for a 94/95..Teh sample tube in teh MAF will also dictate injector if done properly..Check there shold be a magic marker color on it.

They arent stock but that doesnt mean they arent stock size.

If you are doing an engibe buildup from scratch may be best to just start out with a known running SC motor as you will have to rip apart yours to really see if its SC correct

Well you still need to make sure you have the correct sampling tube in your maf for the injectors!!

Anyway i think most of these guys are located on Long Island, few upstate, and few in New England!

thanks man a appreciate it. I am pretty excited about this car. I know it is really fast but i dont know how far it goes but this is good news. I will have it out of storage this week and get some pics up. I need an exhaust badly. It doesn't leak but it was hacked together. I need to check for a chip and if that is not done i will get it tuned. You have been very helpful. You will see it if you make it to the car show in Worcester in July.
