lincoln differential

They do but most Lincoln Diffs are open and dont have trac-lok because of the Traction Control feature. Most are 3.08 gears and LSC models have 3.27

They are made out of aluminum so they are lighter too.

I know about them being open and the gearset. I had a 97 LSC...wish i still had it....it had 3.27.

My question is if the differential is a direct bolt in...i've read dozens of posts, but none seem to answer that basic question. Most go further with lower control arms/springs, and just the ratios.....

Well I have it in my car FWIW. I swapped the traclok unit on to it and kept the 3.08. 8.8 is the number you want to stick with and any 8.8 diff that is made for IRS cars will work.
