Looking for a good alternator for a 1990. Trying to trace down my electrical drain problem. Current alternator won't put out any more than 14.0 volts.

i always thought the normal range was 13.8-14.4 volts.
i have one off of my parts car, but i don't know what voltage it put out.

Ya the output voltage sounds OK. But I am worried about the diodes, as I let the alt charge my battery a few times last year after it was just jump started (on a bad battery) and not ran with a fully charged battery. I just put a new battery in 2 weeks ago and went to start yesterday and had 9.5 volts. I am getting a 0.01 voltage draw from my IC fan switch, changing that tonite.
