Anyone ever hear of this guy? I don't watch nascar or anything but there is this long special about him on sportscenter right now. Well i was watching and i noticed his car looked somewhat like mine.... Were thunderbirds used alot in nascar back in the day like this:

Thunderbirds rocked during our body style.......

Davey Allison was also the King....I think Allan and Davey and Neil Bonnet all died within two years.....I stopped watching Nascar when Davey died...

That was bad for a year or so there ... Alan Kulwicki and Davey Allison both killed in air crashes. My two favourite NASCAR drivers back when I actually cared a bit about that race series. Kulwicki was a bit of an outsider, being from Wisconsin rather than a good ole boy from the southeast. He did a lot with limited resources, including a championship the year before he was killed.

ALLEN did it his wayhe was kind of like earnhardt he would knoc you out to win a race he would have won many more championships if not fot that fateful day at bristol.to me DAVEY ALLISON would have been the next earnhardt.DAVIE was a driver not a talker he would have had as many titles as dale or more, nascar lost the great drivers.

The end of real NASCAR racing. :(

Agreed. I used to be a huge NASCAR fan and this past weekend I realized for the first time I'd rather watch IRL than NASCAR any day of the week. The quality of racing is the same but without manufactured results thanks to "debris" caution flags. Now if a seagull takes a dump on the back stretch NASCAR throws the yellow.

Nascar Now...

Mandatory safety pitstops and a "Lucky dog" for a driver who cant keep up.......A driver spins out and is out of the way and its a full course caution....No racing in the rain...Roof flaps...Yuck..Rusty Wallace didnt need them and he had more frequent flyer miles then the President.....Rubbish....

Pretty soon every race will be restrictor racing.....If banking is the reason for not racing in the rain....Dont build tracks with banking....F1 Motorcycles race in the rain...And why not race with the fuel you qualify with to make pits stops more interesting and a strategy.......

Excuse me I gotta go....The Tampax 500 is on now...

This is the funniest thing...My racing buddy told me around 1995....""Did you know they dont have real headlights and brake lights"""....I still bust his stones once a year for this so funny he thought for ten years he watched that they had real headlights......So funny....

The money for drivers is in Nascar.....Im a Formula One open wheel fan....And honestly in that level of racing at about 28-32 years old your no longer at the top of your game..Most drivers if they havent won a race by age 25 they end up in Indy car then Nascar...Christian Fittapaldi/Casey Mears are ones that comes to mind..Juan Pablo is another...He had skills in F1 and won races but he was alittle too agressive and most likely would have never won a Championship...He knew it.......

Michael Schumacher(F1) retired because he knew the good days were over even though he could still get seconds and third place in the championship for the next 5 years....But world champion....He was too old at 34.....The hand eye coordination and the G forces under braking and excelleration is too much.....Some races with him at 32-34yrs old you could see during interviwes afterwards it looked like he had a stroke....One side of his face would be messed up and and his eye was screwed up....

But in Nascar with a good team you can race into your 50's...So in the long term its the best buck going..Plus sponsorship is better...More brand names to the average consumer.......

I still only liked Nascar during the Davey Allison but I will watch any short track race......Its all about the driver there......More throttle then you need........Its a racer drivers track......
