test & tune went great today for a while..

Well I went to the track for some test & tune todaywith my stroker V6. The temps were great for making huge horsepower. The guys preped the track for the few of us that had made it down there for this speical testing day.
The first three passes got quicker with each pass. Tell you what there was this guy with a "rat" nova that could not beleive how much noise this blower makes. The fourth pass was a killer it went 9.51 at 138 mph... Now that is moving... We went back and played with the setup a bit more and added some more boost to it and tried it again. The car blasted off the line like there was a rocket in it. When it hit second gear all hell broke out. The trans went into "free wheel" and by the time I got my big foot out of it the engine was hurt.. How bad is something that time will tell, but it did get hurt..
So much for these early test & tune deals... Oh well, I got some time to rip it down and see what went wrong.....Rich

Big mistake on your part just be truthful dont make up such storys please. You never once posted a time slip or any proof in any of your clames it gets real old real quick. There was a video shot out the window of one car and I think it was Kurt K. that timed it and said it was a 10 second pass. Then there is the "mohawk man" he DROVE more than one car when he was here. Now if this is not enought, there is also Dave D. that drove the slower V6 car and did say it was stupid fast when he tuned it the first time..
Besides all this, lets see how hurt the car is before anyone throws a blanket on the whole thing....I will get to work on this car this week end and see what's up with it....Rich

Last year Wisco Andy took one of my car down to the track for me. He was even there when it went faster than 12.0's I don't remember just how good it was running that day, but that is another person that HAS been at the track. I do wish that you and I were closer to where we live so you also could have seen some of the runs. I know I can always go to the shoot out, but as you already know last year was not a good year for me to do much of this stuff.

Actually I dont care either way as I dont have a dog in that fight. My car is just a street car and I run it down the track for fun a few times a year. Seemed to me an easy solution. Jim cries foul that the track isnt open so it didnt happen and rich saids he posted the time slip. I would think the time slip would have not only the time but the date. I'm not talking about one of your big block cars or one of your other v6 cars, I'm talking about this supposedly wicked fast v6 SC of yours that you claim ran a 9.51.

As for the slower SC that Dave D. rode in and tuned that was mentioned in these threads. It may have been a pretty fast car, but you and I both know it never pulled 437 rwhp.

Its all in fun anyways and a start of spring and racing....What would racing be without trash talking..And a bit of fibbing..Makes it great...

We did in fact run 9.520et but me being a true honest racer dont think its official until I can make a backup run like I did with the 9.989et run. We are not happy with that time at all we thought we could do better. Now the car has a new combo our eyes are set on much bigger berrior with an IRS SC with M90 supercharger. Only thing we changed was trans and went to stroker shortbock. The 9.989et run was special to be the first to do so and its now a big part of SC history ( proven fact )

The track is not open until the 5th weather permitting that in fact my be canceled. Just check bad track weather for Tuesday 4/1/08 plus contact track owner Randy Hennings (262) 878-3783

The next time I go to the local track I'll ask one of the sub 9 second cars to give me their time slip then I'll have a time slip to say I'm the fastest sc, so just having a time slip means nothing to me...not enough proof people.

I've met Rich, and ridden in some of his whack rides. I don't know why he would lie about this. So personally I don't have any problem just taking his word for it. Kudos Rich, it takes a lot to get these cars into the 9's as Jim can attest.

The unfortunate thing is that I still see their comments when people quote them. If only more people would do the same as me. It makes this board far more enjoyable.

I would hate to add Rich to my ignore list, but I am tired of the "I went 9.xx posts and I have proof" posts. Post the proof or don't start the thread. When I say proof, I mean a video taped run which should be easy to accomplish. I would tend to believe Rich before I would Jim, but a video is the only true way to verify it.

Rich was running at a track where he knows the owners as friends and it was just open for a few of them. So maybe they weren't exactly printing time slips.

So why is anyone doubting Rich? He has multiple cars that people have ridden in that think are crazy fast and these are people who tune 10 second SC's for a living.

Why would Jim, who has posted nothing but one time slip and has asked people not to start trouble be so infuriated with Rich posting this? He isn't requesting the number 1 spot, he is just content with having run the times he has.

This reminds me of times when people ran quicker than Jim and him not believing it could be done and then once his team was smart enough to figure out how, he wanted to be adored and praised as king!

Chris is a women and I quote from her, "The track was NOT open on April 1st, there where no cars racing because there where 6 inches of water on the track."

I just want to get one thing strait, I wasn’t helping you nor anyone else. How do we know XXXXXXXXXXXX? Where is this video of your 9 second run? How do we know that time slip is yours?

A video was taken by Bob Jinkins wife I been trying to receive a copy of the video the resonse I get they have hours of tape to go through. Time slip was subbmitted to George to post as soon as he gets time to up-date the Top SC list. We set a historic run by an SC first 9 second run injoy the fact you even have one

When we go to run for the first Sc to enter the 8 second mark that same person that called the NHRA tech has made an offer to video and be a part of the team and I will injoy having him here in Calif. The only official 9 second run is the 9.989et run all els is just testing when time comes to go for a new record things will be in place so all will be happy

I said enough on this matter be proud and happy to have the cars we have and the time and money we spend to get them as quick threads like this takes the injoyement and fun out of things. There others working hard to run 9's I hope they never have to go through this and wish those people the best to reach there goals

So, uhhh, when you posted this little account of what happened that night:

(Team SBR sets new record)

Silver Bullet Racing sets first 9 second run with a 9.989etat 135.303mph with near perfect reaction time .005 to top it off. Well it was a mad dash to get to the track before test and tune closed the lanes Chuck just finished the car and wanted to do two test runs to see if the car will go straight with no control problems with the IRS suspension before the 22nd Nor-Cal meet. We got there pulled it out of the box went through tech put right in the lane I got strapped in waited for the go signal from the starter

First run car left like a rocket pulled the wheels sat it down hit 2nd and it made a hard move toward the center line I shut her down that was wild to say the least. Chuck made some adjustments to the suspension Dan down loaded the run graph made a tune adjustment it was real cold temps we got it cooled down got the IC like frozen ice we where ready again on a mission


Final run I wanted to make it good I left on the tree we used full converter stall on the trans brake it left real hard with a 1.481 60ft there was no tire spin or shake it went straight down the groove I shifted it early it was moving so quick and fast I know it would be good it went through the eye's a 9.989et at 135.030mph the new quickest and fastest SC record in the 9's. The hard work of my high tech guys payed off to get an IRS,AOD,M-90, 3.8v6 into the 9's awesome job by great guy's

After the 9 second run the NHRA tech officials come over looked the car over we now have a few issues to correct some big most SFI requirements need to be in place well get it done for Dec 22nd its nice to have a car that works for you not like before with top end darting shaking tire spin Chuck and Dan hat's off to two masters at what they do best

Where exactly did you do a back up run like a true racer?

We made three runs total plan was two only

First run was aborted the second run was a 10.062et shuting off just before the lights pulling left the final run 9.989et they nailed us NHRA track tech. Anyway back to work injoy your day tired of hashing over this old stuff
