4:11 Roll Cage

Add new paragraph "D" bar installation for full bodied cars: For front wheel drive cars, with complete OEM floor (from the fire wall to the rear of the trunk) and rocker/sill boxes, the 1-1/4" x .058" CM (.118" MS) "D" bars (when required; i.e. when the main hoop is not welded to the frame) may be welded to a 1-5/8" x .083" CM (.118" MS) cross member welded to the rocker/sill box via conventional 6" x 6" x 1/8" thick plates. For rear wheel drive cars, with neither a frame nor sub-frame connectors, but with complete OEM floor (from the fire wall to the rear of the trunk; exception: the rear inner wheel wells may be tubbed with steel or aluminum.) and rocker/sill boxes, the 1-1/4” x .058 CM (.118” MS) "D” bars may be welded to conventional 6" x 6" x 1/8" plates attached to the drive shaft tunnel.”

In third paragraph, after “Modifications to helmet/shield are prohibited” add “Helmet must remain as manufactured, except for paint scheme/graphics. Reducing peripheral vision of helmet in any way prohibited. Shield, if used must remain as manufactured, may be clear or tinted. Cutting of shield, or reducing its transparency, prohibited. Tape, tinting film, paint, decals, ECT. prohibited except for a horizontal band at top of shield, 1-inch tall maximum. See General Regulations, Section 4, Windshield, Windows.”

The "D" bar is the two bars going from main hoop to inward to the side of driveshaft tunnel floor behind driver seat. If you have a 2008 rule book check section 4 generial regulations full body cars

The new helmet shield rule was needed after a pit accedent last year. Someone was hit in the pits, so they are tightening up on using blinders. Most of us old guys don't have to worry about the other lanes tree bothering us, since most cant see that far any way. :)

Be intresting to see if Greg Anderson has his blinders on his helmet this weekend.
