I never thought I was going to get away with anything with an ignition miss...

My other car is a Galant, it ran a 13.8 and the first time I brought my Supercoupe to the track it ran a 15.125 @ 90.76 (ignition miss, and VERY hot heat soaked motor).

I went out to the local hang out to show a few friends the car and a 5.0 mustang wanted to race, the fox body 5.0 with an automatic and a couple of mods (mainly your normal bolt-ons for the car).

First race, he burns his STREET tires before the race; I just laughed and went, left him and let off...I win (big time)

Second race, wasn't paying attention and went from 1-D instead of 1-2 and it basically went from first gear to third back down to second so I let off.

Third race, I already knew I would win so I turned Traction Control off this time, and let my car get sideways off the line and shut down as soon as I did just for giggles.

Slowed down and hit the speed limit and was cruising (at this point there are literally probably 10 cars behind us watching everything laughing) and went to an off ramp and the guy had hit his hazard lights because he thought it was an actual attempt from me to race him and apparently he was all happy he beat my old maw maw car...but then a cop cut him off, and I kept going (not trying to run just laughing at this point)...

He won the last race alright, but he also won a wreck less endangerment, speeding, and drag racing ticket... hehe

So I guess - I win? :D

*Edit: Just found out that my EGR is bad, and I have a huge boost leak in the SMIC*

Shoot.......

Most Mustangs are geared for 1/4 mile only...If are cars can beat them 0-60....Then the mustang gets us from 61-100.....Then we get them after that.....Expressway runs are in our favor......Nice job

That's pretty much how it worked, from 0-60 I defintley outran him hard and by 100 MPH I had enough ground on him to have held him off.

I talked to one of his friends the other night and his dad took his car away from him! :)

What kind of Galant did you have? Just wondering, was it a late 80s (or was it early 90s??) VR4? Would love to have one of those myself!

2004 Mitsubishi Galant LS - 3.8L V6 - Lightest Weight

P.S. Mustang guy is now in jail for running from the cops because he had drugs in the car... LOL
