I just purchased an auto 94 with 55k on the odo, there was custom exhaust work done and it seems that there is excessive carbon, i think that means its running rich?? Im not really sure. Help is greatly appreciated!

Also i have an early style pulley would it be safe to run it on this car???

The exhaust is no cats, flowmaster res. and two flowmaster muffs coming out of the back, i also think its 2 1/4 exhaust!!

Not sure on the running rich part but the early pulley should be safe with even minor exhaust work. I believe early pulley is about a 3% overdrive on a 94/95 blower.

Also, you may wanna update your sig.:p It appears you are now back in the saddle.:D

I will, just want to make sure i didnt want to ruin my brand new car lol. Also thinking of taking the car to wally world tomorrow to do thier fuel injection service!!

Are you judging this by the sooty-ness of the exhaust pipes? If so, I'm not sure that's a reliable indicator. Pull a couple plugs and see how they look or better yet take it to a shop with an exhaust analyzer.

Cheers

i will never let wal-mart touch my car. they can sell me oil, and thats about it.

it prolly has the flowmaster kit for the car. its good for mild power.

and even with only 3% OD i would still throw a fan behind the intercooler. im i firm believer in those fans. it can never hurt.

can u post some pics ?

if i were u i'd keep everything stock "looking", instead of modding all kinds of stuff. u can still do sneaky mods like porting everything, gears, clutch, DIC. but thats just me

congrats on the new SC !

Wal Mart? C'mon man! If you hate the car that much, just toss a cup of gas and a match inside, and get it over with!

With that exhaust you should be good to go with a 3% OD using the older pully. You should be able to run a 1/4 mile without hitting a ACT spark pull back, but as mentioned, a fan on the IC will for sure get you through that without losing performance. I've got some logs up in the members section on what happens with timing with ACT and hitting knock on a WOT run. My car is running a 94 blower with 42# injectors.

If its anything like jiffy lube or other places they put injector cleaner in your tank and put injector cleaner through your vac lines, wich you could do yourself i would only do it if they have the one where your car runs on the cleaner.

If it's not throwing a CEL and is running good...leave it alone. Your just asking for trouble having those kids at walmart working on your car...especially if it doesn't need any work.

TOM,it works like the old style carb choke would stick half open and act like it was fiooding out,the temp control sensor works in the same manner if bad it tells computer the engine is not at operating temp,it dont flood out but get that rich burn your eyes smell of gas, putting to much gas to throutle body.

the rear valance has some soot on it not a whole lot but some there, and it has the flowmaster force II system, at least the mufflers/resonator! I know a few of the guys at our walmart because i worked there in high school and they did my last car and i supervised the entire time. I know there a bunch of idiots also! Maybe ill take it to the exhaust shop over here later today!

thanks, i really like it, got to do some burnouts today, gotta say the auto can lay some rubber!! Not as exciting as a 5 spd but it will do, another thing i dont like is when i punch the gas it lags when it shifts, possibly a shift kit will help that!! Or is something wrong??

Since the tranny is a 4r70w, a chip can change how the tranny etc shifts as well as when it shifts since its controlled by the EEC.
