Today was the very first event for OVR and it was also the very first event for me in the race car SC that I built. Today was just a Test 'N Tune so it gave me plenty of opportunity to feel the car out. Unfortunately the weather was in the low 40's and raining all day. Even with the bad weather we all got six runs in for the day. One my fourth run, first one on the video, I was doing pretty decent until the end when I took out the timing and scoring sensor  After that my pride was kinda hurt and I took it easy on my last two runs.
Things I learned, my car corners very flat given the conditions and is an absolute blast to drive. Screw power steering (sorry Will  but I love my manual steering so much better), corner workers really hate to chase after cones  , my car will be so much better once its dry, and the screams coming from my girl friend Heather can be heard over the sound of my exhaust    She did have a great time though and wants to ride in the car more. I think I got her hooked :D

Looks like a good time. What's the car weigh these days? No need for the apologies about power steering; your car is probably 600-700 pounds lighter than mine, so if you don't need power steering, cool. But losing power steering when you're counting on it being there is no fun at all!
Do you run a fuel cell or the stock gas tank? I'm finding out that my car will run into fuel starvation in right hand turns if I don't have at least 3/8-1/2 a tank of gas. Also, since your car is lighter than mine, what sway bars are you running?

I believe that is Mansier's old car, correct?

Looks like a fun time. They should stick those orange bike flags next to the timing devices so they are easier to see and less likely to get knocked over.
You would love to have a good power steering system on a track like that. Not like the stock SC steering unless you add a massive cooler to the SC system. It just gets too hot on a tight track. On a bigger track where speeds are higher, it's not quite such a benefit, though even there, you can get much more precision with your steering inputs when you aren't fighting the mass of the vehicle so much. Even when all they do are left turns, NASCAR uses power steering.
Again. looks like fun. You will need to arrange for a 3 camera video capture sometime. One in the car, one on one side of the track, and another on the other side. Then cut that into a little video. Do it when the sun is out and you'd have a nice piece of video.

You guys might have that oppertunity at the Dayton meet. I am considering drag racing it just for fun but I'll be on street tires.

I wanna see it on a road course.....Way too much car there to be doing a little autox thing.......Cool video....But I wanna see 120mph through the straights and into a 90......
Id have to cheat in an autox.....I use a suicide knob for my 4x4 truck when offroading....They say the are unsafe but my racing harness wouldnt allow me to touch the wheel anyways...

Mid Ohio seems like all right turns for the most part....Might be able to set the car up for rights......That includes moving your camera to a right side bumper mount ...lol.
Turn 6 and 7 and into 8 look to be a dozy....Not sure if you can get ahold of a dvd of the track.....Im doing NASA at Watkins Glen in the Fall and my buddy gave me a nice DVD to check out....Shows where all the flag men are...Brake areas....Great video.....Also if you use youtube and search "instructor mid-ohio"...You might find some great videos.....I did this for Watkins Glen as well.....
Formula One has a big thing with weight tranfer....You see when they pick up a car how its weighted.....Be cool to be able to set your car up as close to a 50/50 as possible....Might try a stock car shop and put your car on the scales to find where you are at.....Turns 6 and 7 for a nose heavy car is gonna be a chore to keep it straight....
Im getting excited for ya.....Good Luck....
