Stalled while driving

While driving my 92 SC the tach dropped to 0. Coasted to a stop and tried to start the car, it wouldn't start and the tach didn't move. Tried a few more times and it started. Drove about 1 mile and it did the same thing. Did the same as before and it finally started and drove home, about 25 miles, with no more stalling. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I'd check the balancer bolt head and make sure it's still there. It sounds like crank sensor to me. It could be the balancer moving back and forth. That's what mine did when it broke a few years ago.

Changed the crank sensor and pulled the balancer. Found the rubber insert to be missing about 180 degrees and the balancer. Replaced the balancer with the one from my parts car. Idle is smoother know in drive also. Thanks for the help.
